Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack #2 Discussion and Prediction

Hope a Starfox themed track and vehicle are at least included in the next pack. I'd love a Corneria, or Starfox Assualt themed track. Also an Arwing Kart would be nice considering we got a Blue Falcon one already!

So instead of Retro tracks we should have Retro Studios tracks because now I crave some Sanctuary Fortress and Autumn Heights in my Mario Kart.

I still think a DKCTF track should play up the crazy dynamics in that game (so stuff like Scorch n Torch, Irate Eight, Cliffside Slide) but otherwise agreed.

Any Bowser's Castle will do but yes at the bolded one

*shamelessly stolen from MKW. com lol*

This please. It's excellent.

If there's a DKC:TF track, it should be based on Autumn Heights. Remix the David Wise music, flying off windmills, with owls flying all around. That would be fun in MK.

For returning, I'd like:

- Waluigi Pinball.
- Wario Colosseum (GCN).
- Maple Treeway (not sure if this is the right name actually haha, but the one with the giant Wiggler from MKWii).

For new stages, I can see:

- Animal Crossing (duh).
- Pikmin track.
- Star Fox track.
- Bowser's theme park (Mario 3D World).
- Mario Galaxy themed track, probably a three part one like Wario Mountain.

From other franchises, I think Punch Out, Metroid and Warioware are also possible choices, but less likely IMO. Things like Fire Emblem, Kirby, Pokemon or Mother seem harder because of copyright (owned by Nintendo but involve a "second party" like Intelligent Systems, HAL, Gamefreak or Itoi).

I'm going to be completely unoriginal and root for Battle Mode arenas. I'd trade all the DLC for that. The items haven't bothered me in the least, but not having a proper Battle Mode is the one thing that holds Mario Kart 8 back, in my estimation.

Hadn't even thought of a Star Fox-themed course, but I would adore that. If we get a Metroid track, I'd expect it to be Metroid Blast-flavored.

Predictions?

Oh, I'm predicting a rain of red shells and Bullet Bills hitting just feet from the finish line like the last DLC! DX

StarFox track where you race around the inside hanger of the Great Fox, and an antigrav section on the exterior. Backdrop can be watching StarFox/StarWolf duking it out in space.

It would be nice to have a track for each amiibo supported by the game. We are missing Star Fox, Kirby and Metroid tracks.

I guess there will be two more Nintendo-franchise based ones like in the last pack, so

Metroid Prime Chozo Ruins (could be the pic with Dry Bowser)
something from the Pokemon or Kirby series

KIRBY AIR RIDE STYLE TRACK PLS

New:
- Animal Crossing
- Mario 3D World
- Dat Tree/Jungle one
- KIRBY KIRBY KIRBY track

Returns:
- Ribbon Road (GBA)
- Wario Coliseum (GC)
- Waluigi Pinball (DS)
- Neo Bowser City (3DS)

I'd kill for a rhythm heaven track. I'm pretty sure they could pull it off combining the mini games both in track design and visual flare along with a killer soundtrack

may still seems so far away. quality takes time i guess.

what about a kirby stage, evoking kirby air ride

A remade Checker Knights track in HD, with that anti-gravity and that music? Maaaybe even the Warp Star or one of the other Stars as one of the new vehicles?

NINTENDO PLS
since you'll never make Kirby Air Ride 2 ;-;

A Star Fox track would also be pretty neat :D

This reminded me that I've barely even checked the first DLC pack out. I only played one track. I've neglected my Wii U for months. :(

I doubt we are getting more tracks based on other franchises. We got F-Zero and Excitebike because they are racing games. I could maybe see a Kirby one due to Air Ride. But wait a minute, isn't there another Nintendo racing franchise? That's right, WAVE RACE. I think it's a possibility. I also don't think the forest level is based on Donkey Kong. The Zelda update had Ice Ice Outpost and Dragon Driftway, which weren't based on anything. Also since we had SNES, GCN, and Wii tracks return in the last DLC, I don't think they will pull from those games for the upcoming DLC.

New tracks:
Animal Crossing
Forest Track (not based on anything)
Mario Galaxy (with godlike Gusty Garden Galaxy remix)
Swamp Track (I don't think this theme has ever appeared in Mario Kart)
Wave Race/Kirby's Air Ride

Returning tracks:
Choco Mountain (N64)
Airship Fortress (DS)
Shy Guy Bazaar (7)

Stage too good, too pure for this world: Baby Park

Cars:
Animal Crossing one
Who Cares
Who Cares
Who Cares
Animal Crossing Tires
Animal Crossing Kite

All I can think of that I really want to see are some Super Circuit tracks that aren't X Circuit or Bowser's Castle getting some love. It baffles me how we've had all 3 Circuit tracks and 3/4 Bowser's Castles, but Ribbon Road, Cheese Land, and Sunset Wilds still haven't been used.

... though I also wouldn't mind seeing Sky Garden, since it kinda got robbed of a proper facelift being a retro track in DS.

You got the right idea. I definitely want all of those you listed and Sky Garden in HD would be amazingggg. I love snow and sky themes for tracks.

Waluigi Pinball would be fantastic. That's definitely in my top 3 of best tracks ever created.

A Starfox course would be amazing as well.

I think Nintendo will reuse many assets and ideas of its current releases.

1. Animal Crossing
2. Starfox
3. Yoshi's Wooly World
4. Kirby Claymation
5. Wuhu Island (returning track)
6. Splatoon
7. Pikmin
8. Kid Icarus Uprising

Even Pokken is a possibility.

All I want is a couple SNES tracks, but I doubt we will see them. They still haven't retroed a single Vanilla Lake or Bowser's Castle from the original game.
