Mark Cerny joins Twitter, on 10 day tour with Kojima to explore technology options

Yeah, looks like probably a vintage U67, which was used for Bowie's vocals on the Ziggy Stardust album.

Could be a U87 (great for monologue game VO, not so great for diegetic context lines), unless there's some identifier I'm missing.

Edit: Oh shit, I just noticed the shotgun mic beneath it too. Best of both worlds.

Yeah, it's hard to tell since the 67 and 87 share the same capsule design. I figured it was a 67 because the 87 isn't used as often for sangin', but you're probably right about that setup probably being for VO work.

Hmm, approximately 11-12 hour flight, given the interval of his last tweet compared to the one before that.

Europe? If so, interesting that he left North America without even dropping by San Diego, Santa Monica and Naughty Dog.

90% sure that is Gatwick, London.
Certainly looks like British weather. HSBC is a London-based bank too, but since it's multinational that's not really an indicator.

He was at San Diego. The VASG team is located in the same building of Sony San Diego

They'll do Sony London, Quantic Dream, Guerrilla Games, I imagine. It's not a long trip for Evolution and Guerrilla Cambridge to bring some stuff down if they want to show it to Kojima.

Quantic Dream is in France, so maybe after England. And Cambridge is considerably easier to get to than Cheshire.

Damn it, why can't I be in London doing dialogue post-production this week, I'm stuck at home in Lincolnshire doing freelance audio editing.

Wait, they have separate buildings?
Guerrilla Games is a Dutch studio located in Amsterdam. They did all the Killzone stuff and are now working on Horizon.

Guerrilla Cambridge was a completely seperate studio named SCE Cambridge Studio. They were restructured in 2013 to be a sister studio to Guerrilla Games with the release of Killzone Mercenary. They are now working on RIGS.

If they're heading for Cambridge they'll likely drop by Ninja Theory to see Hellblade too, given their mocap setup and partnership with Sony. Maybe even Frontier as well for Elite, which is just up the road from them (nice science park, I miss the place).

I'm so happy for Kojima. By all accounts he seemed to have gone through some particularly shit times, so it's nice to see him enjoying life, only good things can result from it.

I work in Piccadilly Circus... Should I just stalk SoHo all day? Ah, too much of a workaholic to do that, but nothing stops lunch breaks walkabouts ;).
