Marvel’s The Defenders | Official Trailer

I am probably way more hyped for this than I should, but hot damn, I'm in!

Hopefully the actual team building doesn't take 8 episodes out of 10...

Will never understand gaf's hate for s2 DD. It's still my favorite season marvel has produced so far. Elektra was dope, Ninjas are dope, Punisher was dope, Kingpin was still dope.

Add me to those who enjoyed all the Elektra and the Hand stuff from DD S2.

It's a master class compared to how Iron Fist handled things.

Jessica Jones didn't fight in a hallway, yes. But there were a holy hell of a lot of "hallway" scenes. Her office was at the end of a hallway, for christ's sake.

The Cage punch in the hallway would look good if the guy getting punched would fly back with a bit more speed/force and not like he is pulled back by a bungee rope.

Could still be entertaining.

They should rename it the Hallway Cinematic Universe. Starring Rosario Dawson as Night Nurse.

WHY THE HELL ARE THESE CHARACTERS FIGHTING WITHIN THE INTERIORS OF BUILDINGS AGAIN?!? WHY HAVE MARVEL GOTTEN SO GODDAMN LAZY! THESE CHARACTERS SHOULD BE FIGHTING IN HOT AIR BALLOONS, SUSPENDED ABOVE BREATH-TAKING CINEMATIC VISTAS...OR BESIDES VOLCANOS SPEWING ENDLESS REAMS OF SHEER CINEMATIC MOLTEN DRAMA!

You're such a reasonable poster
when it comes to anything not involving Dr. Strange.

Doctor Strange featured an excruciatingly hollow, paint by the numbers story acted out by horrendously hollow character archetypes without the slightest trace of depth... that attempted to compensate its gaping shortcomings by distracting the audience with some vaguely arresting visuals, like someone spraying a perfume in an attempt to mask a really bad smell. But deep down in our hearts, we all knew what that film was. Or more to the point, what it wasn't.

I liked the balcony scene.

I am really excited for this! The trailer seemed like a lot of fun.

I skipped out on most of DDS2 and all of Iron Fist entirely, is there any point in finishing them?

I really liked Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in their entirety, warts and all. I was enjoying them both enough to marathon watch them in 2-3 sittings. Daredevil comparatively, took me over a year to finish S1 and by the time I was a few into S2.. I just wasn't much interested.

that scene with matt coming into the interrogation room mirrors a scene from the comic, but i still wish that was the scene at the end of JJ season 1. seriously it would've been nicer if some of the characters met each other prioer besides just luke and jessica

Ooh, what's the scene?

Ooh, what's the scene?

the DA wants to prosecute JJ for
killing purple man
. she gets an attorney but it's just hogarth again. imo it would've been better to just have Matt there, as it is comic book accurate and JJ shouldn't want to work with Hogarth again so soon considering all the shady shit she did throughout the season

It looks like Jessica and Matt's interactions are going to be the highlight here. I'm always up for a little Murtaugh and Riggs style Odd Couple team up.

That trailer was also better than Iron Fist in its entirety, so there's that too.

Nahh, I stand by my opinion. It was fun the first two times, but it's beyond lazyness now. It's not engaging when you've seen it numerous times already.

So if they had the exact same fight but in a slightly wider room that can't be considered a hallway, that wouldn't be "lazy"?

Do we have acceptable parameters for the dimensions of the room they can have fight scenes in?

So was Finn Jones actually alright as the Iron Fist character? I never ended up seeing that series because of the overwhelmingly negative reaction, but if at least he's good in his own show than we shouldn't have a problem with him among different creative staff, hopefully. I think I loved Jessica Jones and Daredevil season 2 especially more than most, so I should have a good time with The Defenders, I'm not going to defend the back half of Luke Cage though.

Why won't they give Danny a damn mask so we can get someone who knows what they're doing to fight?! Even Matt puts one on when he's in a suit

Also, as a famous, media friendly billionaire...shouldn't Rand have the most reason out of all the characters to put on a mask? It doesn't make any sense why he doesn't.

The thing about hallfway fight scenes is that the best one has already been done 14 years ago. Why are you even trying to compete, dawg? Doesn't matter how incredible yours is. That's a battle you're going to lose.

Also that drive past Luke's old barbershop...

That's totally gonna be opened up at the end of the season with a sign that says 'HEROES FOR HIRE;

i don't think so no, but the prospect of all these characters coming together outweighs the miscast of him as iron fist in my opinion.

The closest hallway fight in Jessica Jones is her fight with steroid Simpson which spilled into the hallway of her office.

So I see the hallway fight is an accepted trope in these shows now.

Doesn't look bad. It's interesting to see that Matt isn't going to be wearing his Daredevil suit, this looks to be more of a "becoming Daredevil again", type story I see. Hopefully it's much better then Iron Fist, which shouldn't be hard. Hype!

Looks cool. Though I think I am done with getting my hopes up for anything these days.

edit:
Elektra yes! Her parts of DD season 2 were the best.

Loved S2 but Elektra's story arc just puttered at the end, with that stated the actress herself was absolutely great as the characterization of Elektra.
