Marvel Cinematic Universe: Watch order?

Skip Hulk. People telling you to skip other moves are saying so because they think it's bad. Hulk has been abandoned by Marvel and is only referenced when all MCU films are listed.

General Ross will appear in Captain America Civil War.

The Incredible Hulk factors into Agents of SHIELD & Daredevil in some way and will factor into Captain America: Civil War.

I had this saved on my computer from when a friend and I were discussing things:

MOVIE: Iron Man
MOVIE: Iron Man 2
ONE-SHOT: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to ThorÂ’s Hammer
MOVIE: Thor
MOVIE: The Incredible Hulk
ONE-SHOT: The Consultant
MOVIE: Captain America: The First Avenger
MOVIE: The Avengers
ONE-SHOT: Item 47
MOVIE: Iron Man 3
TV: Agents of SHIELD 1x01 - 1x07 (ABC)
ONE-SHOT: All Hail the King
MOVIE: Thor: The Dark World
TV: Agents of SHIELD 1x08 - 1x16 (ABC)
MOVIE: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
TV: Agents of SHIELD 1x17 - 1x22 (ABC)
MOVIE: Guardians of the Galaxy
TV: Daredevil 1x01 - 1x13 (Netflix)
TV: Agents of SHIELD 2x01 - 2x10 (ABC)
TV: Agent Carter 1x01-1x08 (ABC)
TV: Agents of SHIELD 2x11 - 2x19 (ABC)
MOVIE: Avengers: Age of Ultron
TV: Agents of SHIELD 2x20 - 2x22 (ABC)
MOVIE: Ant-Man

It's funny. I'm a huge MCU buff, but I haven't seen a single one of the one-shots. The only MCU movie I own is GotG. The rest I just watch on streaming services when I feel like it. Is there any way to watch the one-shots aside from buying the movies?

Listen to this man, best way to watch everything since its in release order.

Don't listen to anyone who says to ignore something.

Only Hulk. It's questionable why that movie should even be in the MCU, as it's entirely irrelevant. Lame movie too.

Also, don't miss the Agent Carter and Daredevil TV shows.

Banner learns to control his transformation into Hulk which ties into the Avengers ("I'm always angry")

Exactly. Don't skip Agents of SHIELD, guys. It gets much better after the first half of Season 1, & Season 2 is just plain awesome.

Cosign. I thought they turned it around at episode 11, really stepped up their game with 17 and just went bonkers in season 2.

Correct.

But I am not going to watch 1 terrible season just because season 2 is better.

The first half of season 1 isn't great, but they turned the ship around halfway through and finished on a high enough note that the first season can be deemed "decent." Season 2 is another ball game altogether. It's never less than good and it's highs are really damn high.

Whatever your misgivings with the first season, you are missing out big time.

Also, Agent Carter is cool too.

Watch them all in release order.

Just be careful with the TV series. Agents of SHIELD takes place after The Avengers and Iron Man 3. Watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier between episodes 16 and 17 of SHIELD season 1. It will be obvious when you need to watch Age of Ultron, because a SHIELD episode basically ends with a tease for it. Daredevil can be watched any time after Avengers. Agent Carter can actually be watched any time after Captain America 1.

If you're only looking for the "highlights," you can easily go...

Iron Man > Avengers > Winter Soldier > Guardians of the Galaxy

But honestly, that's not much of a "Universe," that's just four loosely-related pretty-good movies. And where's the fun in that?

If you actually want to watch the whole series, just go through the whole thing in release order. Watch everything - it all fits into place somewhere, even Incredible Hulk which seems to be getting pulled more tightly into continuity
and is way better than everyone says
.

The TV shows I would say you can skip, honestly, with a full watch-through. Agents of SHIELD, even when it gets good, isn't what I'd call "must-watch TV" and barely fits into the movie continuity. I'd really only recommend it for die-hard MCU fans. Moreover, Daredevil is so far removed from the "mainstream" storyline that you can slot it in at pretty much any point after the Avengers. It's amazing, obviously, but you don't gain or lose anything by watching it "in order."

Correct.

But I am not going to watch 1 terrible season just because season 2 is better.

I remember this argument coming up in the AoS OT. Lots of shows don't hit their stride until later. Prime example: Star Trek TNG. Breaking Bad took a while to really get rolling too.

OP, at the very least, check online to see which episodes of AoS are less important and skip those if you absolutely must if you're even remotely interested in the show.

As others have said, watch in release order, and don't skip any films - especially since you have access to all of them, presumably for free.

Shit I didn't realize the movies were becoming as confusing as the comics to follow. o_O

Also, 4 movies in 2018? Shit.

The movies are super easy to follow. It's the ongoing TV shows that are starting to make things complicated.

Order of release. That's the order the creators assumed you saw them in. That really only affects background information outside of three movies.

In a way, though the movies haven't paid much (if any) attention to the TV side as of yet. That may soon change with introduction of fairly big hitters like Daredevil being added. I hope.
