Hey folks. Need some help.

I just tried to fire this up for the 1st time in a month or 2 today, downloaded the (big ass) patch, and now when I try to launch via steam, the splash screen comes up but when it goes to launch the game proper, I just get a flickering screen. The only way I can do anything at that point is control-alt-delete and log off windows. Cant even end it via task manager as it just keeps bouncing between a black window (what I assume to be the game) and my desktop, every second or so.

I've verified the integrity of the game cache, re-installed Direct X and the MSVCRT9, 10 and 13 files, restarted PC, but still the same. Other Steam games are ok, and I've never had any issues launching the game before in a couple thousand hours...

I may need to submit a support ticket I guess, but wanted to check here to see if anyone had any ideas. Kinda sucks cos I was all set to splash a few bucks on the sale thats on at the moment too

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the game? I wonder if it could be something with the Unreal Engine modifications they did this patch.

Start by trying borderless window. This patch reset most user settings and changed the location where a lot of them are stored.

They are now in Documents\My Games\Marvel Heroes\MarvelGame\Config and the new file is MarvelSystemSettingsUserSettings.ini.

In that file add

[SystemSettings]
Fullscreen=False
Borderless=True

add the header as well if it isn't there yet.

Not yet. Was hoping to avoid downloading 15 gig again with my slow ass internet, but guess thats the last thing to try.

On it now. 5 and half hour estimate fuckin. If this doesn't work, off to support I guess

So I logged into the game just now to discover some random person from the forums had gifted me Black Cat. Such a nice surprise, can't believe how decent the community for this game seems to be.

So with that being said which build for her is the most fun, she looks to be a DoT character which would make me really happy.

Much stronger than the ones you list. Very powerful overall. Top 15 or so.

Also lol at the part one claim. They do realize that the hype will be gone in 2-3 weeks worth time? Why bother with a tie-in if you can't hit the schedule. New players will log on and leave right away if they came for the promised CW stuff.

New IM costume looks cool though but no thanks. Not going for their staggered release thingy.

Basically a confirmation of Iron Man/Cap team up also.

Looks like spacezerox is doing some CW costumes. Good news.

I'm certain the Cap costume is his. He did the Cap visual update and that looks like his work.

He has also done all of Bucky's as far as I know, so that should be his too.

I took over Captain. IM and WM were done by Non Forum Artist. Black Panther, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Spiderman were done by me. BW, Crossbones, Agent 13, Winter Soldier were done by in house contract people (Whom I love to tease and harass on a daily basis)

BW and WS were done by using their previous models. (BW using her VU model) I can't take all the credit for BP as parts of him were done by one of the in house guys but his model was based off of his last costume I think was called "Urban Jungle"?

Ant Man was done by spaceZeroX. Is that everybody?

-Madripoor Bazaar Chase

Maria Hill and S.H.I.E.L.D have been busy tracking Crossbones and have located him in a heavily populated Bazaar located in Madripoor. Many innocent civilians are trapped and only our heroes can go in and help them! The chase ends with a confrontation with Crossbones that will have a very polarizing effect on the world and their opinions on super heroes.

-Bonus Experience

All of the playable heroes in Captain America: Civil War will get 50% bonus experience! This includes Captain America, Iron Man, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Black Widow, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Vision and Spider-Man!

-Giveaways

We will be sending out 2 codes later this week, one for each side in the Civil War. You will be able to redeem only one of the codes in order to declare your allegiance! -Civil War!

After the events of Madripoor, lines are drawn between Super Heroes and you must choose a side! Raise you influence with your team by doing daily missions and hunting down Super Villains. Will you do what it takes to ensure your side is the winning side, even if it means fighting other Super Heroes?

-Tournament

Prove your allegiance by working with other players in a Civil War tournament, where the rewards are not based on individual placement, but team performance!

-Bonus Experience

All of the playable heroes in Captain America: Civil War will get 100% bonus experience!

5/19 - 5/26 - MARVEL HEROES: CIVIL WAR CONTINUED!

Same but 150% exp to CW heroes.

Each mystery box has a guaranteed random hero or costume, a Team Captain America/Iron Man Spotlight Visual and at least 1 random Fortune Card. Other items in the box include Exclusive Iron Man and Captain America Team-Ups in their Civil War costumes, 2 new STASH pets that are Statues of both Captain America and Iron Man, new spray paint items for many of the characters in Civil War and many other boosts and Fortune Cards!

Our Civil War event is the largest event we have ever done and we want it to feel special and exciting for players. We plan on bringing the Civil War event back several times throughout the year, however it wont be a part of the usual event rotation since it is quite large in scope. When the event is over, the associated game modes, tournament, dailies, influence vendors, faction hubs, etc will be unavailable.
