Marvel Heroes 2016 |OT3| Highway to the Danger Room

I'm bummed by the realization that the big powers update probably isn't any time terribly soon (or at least this year). I want that shit to go live so I have a reason to dive into MH and play for like 5 hours on a saturday while getting half drunk. That shit is the good times.

i genuinely hate how most loot is tied to inventory chests, its why i find the game dull for a loot rpg game. its trying ti mimick diablo poe etc but all the fun exciting loot is wrappe dinto different inventory chests instea dof popping from a boss etc. its why i loved old cosmic midtown before changes etc.

Maybe that will be somewhat alleviated with Omega items, assuming they actually drop off bosses. It's been stated/implied that they won't really drop the way uniques drop now, especially since they may be tied to specific difficulties on the slider, so I doubt you'll see like every other event box raining omegas.

I still wish loot was actually reflected in character models in this game; it would be a stupid amount of work, and wouldn't play nice with their costume monetization, but getting to actually cycle between little cosmetic pieces of gear the characters have worn over the years would be radical.

As it stands now though, loot in this game is pretty boring- I feel like it doesn't drop enough on the road to 60 relative to how fast getting to 60 is now, and once I actually hit that 60, I just want to move on to the next hero so I don't take the time to really properly gear anyone. I guess maybe that speaks as much about my interest in the endgame content like raids and cosmic midtown as it does how I feel about loot in game right now.

I'm still really looking forward to getting back into this game once all the changes hit! (They haven't hit yet right- still just PTR?)

Loot being visually represented was one of those things I thought I'd mind, but I actually don't. I'd rather just play the game as the character, in whatever costume I have, than have some bizarro clown-ass Spider-Man wearing a bag over his head because that happened to be the best item I found. In most any other ARPG or MMO I'd want visual representation of gear, but for Marvel, I'm fine with it.

hey got one of those coupon things... 5% fuck off Gaz

It shouldn't be a very large amount of effort.

Also would have accepted "first world problems"

Also teamups are 50% off so maybe I'll grab another. I have a bunch as it is and only use a handful but for some reason they are something I always enjoy.

Maybe Robbie Ghost Rider. He's got a pretty rad model.

Speaking of teamups, there are some update notes for the next TC build and this is listed:

Soul Gem - Inner Resilience replaced with a new affix that grants your active Team-Up a damage bonus.

Pretty cool, I like the idea of being able to spec into active Teamup damage.

best change ever

cosmic haymaker is now called "Sparklefists"
cantwait to try her she got lots of changes

CAPTAIN MARVEL
General Note - Second Sun's visuals are completely placeholder. The visuals will be still inspired by the Sun created by her now-signature power, but that Sun will actually stay in the world and rain down solar flares on enemies, while supercharging Captain Marvel so long as she's anywhere near the Sun's radiant energy.

A new power, Intense Light, has been added to Captain Marvel's Photonics tree - a potent, high-cost two-hand beam cooldown attack. This power's visuals and audio may receive further changes.

Ranged, flat-cost Photonic Energy costs have been raised in exchange for more damage. Her costs weren't quite high enough in the last build to really cause any meaningful drain, and with the increased regen (see further patch notes), this should give her a bit of a damage edge without any real hinderance to rotations.

Photonic Resonance cost increase to Photonic Wave and Devastation reduced to 50%, countering the base cost increase to ranged powers.
Warbird Charge is no longer a forced charge and hold. The power can still be held for better aiming, but will fire immediately if the hotkey is tapped. The power now deals more damage and has a cooldown, and does not cost Photonic Energy.
Roundhouse now costs 50% of Photonic Energy, positioning more as a layer rather than appearing as a primary spender. The intent of Roundhouse (or its Haymaker talent counterpart) is that they are layers whose "charges" are based around how fast you can recharge your Photonic Energy. A full photonic bar is equivalent to "two charges", and if you are able to manipulate that bar, you can exploit more uses out of them.
The talent known as "Cosmic Haymaker" is now named "Sparklefists". Sparklefists now increases Punch damage by 25% in addition to its other effects. Haymaker now states that it gains more damage from Photonic Energy spent, has a higher critical and brutal chance, and triggers a larger Photonic Burst than Punch at no cost.
Uppercut no longer spends Photonic Energy, has had its DoT effect returned, restores half of your Photonic Energy, and has a cooldown.
Starfall now causes Crashdown Strike to fully restore your Photonic Energy instead of spending any of it.
Photonic Bomb (talent upgrade for Photonic Blast) now always critically hits.
Warbird Assault now increases Flying Lunge maximum charges by 1, and restores all charges when Warbird Charge is used.
Ground Shattering Smash now has an 8s cooldown.
Ground Shattering Cascade now completely removes Ground Shattering Smash's Photonic cost while retaining its damage bonus, and also increases its critical hit chance to 100%.
Photonic Energy generation increased - Glimpse of Binary now restores 5% / sec, Radiant Cascade now restores a percentage instead of a flat amount per hit, and Stellar Flare's generation rate has been increased by 50%.
Photonic Wave radius increase to be better fitting of a Ranged build.

ill go back to the TC when big 10 is over, I want the daily login boxes for now

Those Captain Marvel changes.

Man I REALLY haven't played in a long time. Decided to go level Angela, got lost on my way to doc ock, seemingly ran into a dead end. Okay, so I go into Midtown, find out it now scales dynamically to your level, that's pretty neat. Then I go run a green AIM terminal at around level 25 and it's like, hard?? But not really fun, the bosses just took forever to kill. Felt very off.

I'm so close to 10,000 omega points now. This event, and prestiging everything that I can is helping speed up the process a ton. Soon I'll be all set for the changes.

I hope they get around to making Captain Marvel's Binary costume look better. It's so bland and flat, the hair flames look weird too. Maybe it just wasn't meant for 3D.

Ooooooooh.

That's what they mean by more money more problems.

I get it now.

Indeed.

Just picked that one up (as well as Sunspot and Quicksilver with splinters cause what else am I going to spend them on now). If you like teamups that throw a bunch of shit on the screen (which I most certainly do) then he's great. The car driving in from off screen killing the mob I was about to hit will never not be funny to me.

Have to say that I'm pretty lucky right now in MH. Apart from the 90% off token I got a legendary scroll yesterday (first one for me) and my blender results have been on point. I already own most of the costumes I really want but the last five or so I blended were all nice to have, the Green Goblin Marvel Knights costume being the latest one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw5_45VriSk < Fast prestige leveling up route. May need to fast forward to where he starts showing the quests to do. The whole video is him getting to 60 so you will want to skip a lot.

Midtown to level 25. Kill normal mob groups for the yellow orbs. Get the yellow orbs fast stopping everything to collect them.

Just skip his Midtown segment now that you got a tl;dnw summary.

Where does this Big 10 lootbox that can have the asgard visuals come from? Just a random drop? I thought it was the daily login at first but realized that's not the case.

Got a 50% one. Might just use that to buy the remaining teamups since the sale is going on right now. Every hero and every teamup sounds good to me.

I logged in to get Black Cat and after switching zones to the training room and random costume box appeared in my inventory...was that supposed to be given to me?

Check your recent achievements to see if one rewarded you something.

Or maybe you got a gift from a secret admirer.

Black Cat is a pleasant surprise. Not usually a fan of melee heroes, but she plays pretty well. Probably third favorite melee after Cap and Reed (who really doesn't count).

Finally capped on omega, feels nice, now I can put my exp farmer Doom to rest.

The best way to blow through omega levels is to prestige characters during exp events. Now I know, those juicy mission bonuses.

Not a secret admirer unfortunately. Seems getting Black Cat gave me the recruitment program achievement which gives a costume box as a reward.

She's alright, I don't really like her sig. It's one of those "dash around and cut everybody in an area" but the hitbox isn't great and it looks a bit boring which is somewhat of a problem with most of her skills. I know they don't have a lot to work with but even so I was hoping for a bit more. Overall I prefer melee to ranged heroes. Angela (who has a better looking version of Black Cat's sig as a normal cooldown skill), Cap, Captain Marvel, Elektra and Thor would be my favorites.

That's very helpful (Showed me a few story beats I was missing for very, very easy levels). Your milage may vary if anyone tries this though. You may find you need to extend the midtown section a little. My current XP bonus means I need to be around 30 to follow the video. (I only have about 3k omega) If I'm 36 when I leave midtown (Which to be honest doesn't take much longer than 25) I'm at 60 when I kill Modok which is quite a nice quick run.

I have been waiting until I'm 40 now. I'd rather be in auto pilot killing the mobs, though it's possible it takes me a bit longer but I'm watching netflix while I mindlessly kill or have my pets and team up kill. I'm 60 with just a few story mode bosses and Ancient Rune Site in chapter 9 (talk to the rainbow road guard at that Odin zone. That usually gives me enough for one full level, and if I need a bit more I just continue to kill the boss.)
