Marvel Heroes Beta NDA now lifted

I'm unsure if this is wide spread or not but I have an issue frequently with NPCs when I have the graphics set to the highest level.

When I drop it down to medium it looks like this:

The issue is non-existant at Low graphics settings.


These are the only graphics issues I've had with the game, and I can run it perfectly fine at full speed so I don't think it's an issue of my PC not handling the higher settings.
 
Odd. I wasn't having that problem last night and I had mine maxed. I'm sure it'll be fixed though. They've been pretty good about getting bugs fixed. That part is really starting to ramp up ahead of launch deadline.
 
Yep, that seems really weird. I haven't experienced anything like that.

End game patch needs to get here soon (together with some AA options) so I can try it and then just wait for the proper release, at least for the couple of days of head start when there'll be no server issues.
 
I just got an email from Marvel Heroes saying "We are having our final Open Beta Weekend this weekend from 5:00pm PT Friday, May 10th through 10:00am PT Monday, May 13th"

I think that anyone who hasn't played the game yet, and is interested, should definitely check it out and see what they think of it. Playing now gives you access to any character of your choice vs waiting until the game launches in a few weeks and only getting one of the starting 5 (Thing, Storm, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye and Daredevil) for free. Personally, I find it really fun and think it has been getting better and better with every patch they made during Closed Beta.

I don't know if we'll ever see the end game one pre launch. However next week we're supposed to get a big patch so we'll see what all it includes..
 
Well, I thought it had been said on the forums (or on a stream and re-posted there) that the next big patch will be the endgame patch, which will be some form of boss runs, both in open areas and party instances. It will also include revamped crafting, new stash and other stuff, but really there's not any more content other than endgame that is missing. The story is done.

Yea. It pretty much is so I do think the next big one could be it but I'm a pessimist. Either way I'm ok if it doesn't or does. They've still got my money either way.
 
downloading at a blazing 200kb/s .....

would the steam thing be faster? or does it still make you download the files WITH the launcher?

I only ask because I usually download steam games at 2-4mb/s

Thanks for the quick reply. You can never tell with games like this or MMO's if its going to download all the game files through steam or just the launcher.

Anyways glad I switched. 5.7mb/s now :)
 
Whoa! It's already on steam in it's Beta form? The BitRaider launcher client sucks, so if I can get updates right now during Closed Beta through Steam I'd gladly prefer that.

Installed again on steam, planning to play a while later after work, yay for the steam client!
 
Simple question I can't find an answer to.

Will there be difficulty levels as in diablo? As in normal, hard, hell etc. I played the game up to chapter 6 or so and just couldn't see myself going back unless there is scaling difficulty just like the original diablo 2.

As it stands, there doesn't seem to be anything to suggest scaling difficulty levels yet. The only areas where that would be expanded on are additional chapters they would add post release

Yea, it sucks, although the GFX level presets are not final, and I expect it to be there by launch. I've successfully forced FXAA from the NVIDIA control panel. Nothing else I've tried works.
 
Oh hell yea. Glad to see a steam client up already. I just prefer my games on steam if I can. Love that they did a good FAQ on it also. Glad to see we can go ahead and delete our installs and go with the Steam client if we want for the rest of the test.

Trying this out. It's not bad/ Been having fun with Capt. America. Also nabbed Storm to try. Bonus points since it doesn't bsod my computer like neverwinter!
 
I was surprised with how much I actually enjoyed this.

I love the event boss battles. It felt great defeating Venom and Electro with a crapload of people.
I also like how the multiplayer / instances work. I've never played an MMO but I'm assuming it follows the same logic. Diablo 3 could have benefited greatly from a similar design.
 
I played a bit of the beta and it's pretty great, depending on how the monetise this I may stick around. Path of Exile style would be ideal.
 
Pretty fun so far. Played about about an hour with three different characters. Combat doesn't feel as satisfying as Diablo 3 yet but the Marvel packaging makes up for it.

Started off with Iron Man then picked up HawkGuy and Captain Marvel with the free 2,000 Gs. Also picked up a few fortune cards with the remaining cash and ended up getting the Old Man Logan costume which I'm assuming was pretty lucky.

A few questions about the beta:
  • Are they going to wipe my account when the game launches, IE will I keep the same characters once they go live?
  • Similarly, is there any point to leveling up vendors in the beta or will they get wiped?
  • I'm assuming G's won't drop and that will be how they monetize the game? Have they announced the exchange rate for real money vs G's?

. They're going to do a final wipe before the game goes live
. same with vendors
. No idea on exchange rate. The characters and costumes can be boss drops however


Also Old Man Logan is drop exclusive (can't be bought). Extremely lucky you got that, but ironic you don't have Wolverine to even wear it lol
 
I haven't played since the IGN beta weekend, didn't want to see all the content. Waiting for it to go live. I'll definitely give it a run through at least once, dunno after that.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully i can get Wolvie to drop quickly. Might pick up a starter pack but kind of annoying that my first choice, Spider-Man isn't available.

Is my progress going to be wiped after Open Beta?

E: Actually, it looks like the answer is yes. I will probably not play too much more then because I'm enjoying it enough to get flustered if my character gets wiped. I am actually considering buying one of the various packs. I do dig this game and the way it feels.
