Making Zoe Saldana out to be an action star was one of the most hilarious movie things I've heard of. The Spill guys laying into her in the Columbiana review was great.

lol if Bendis ever stops writing for Marvel, don't expect the character to come up again. Cage might, but Drew would probably go in to limbo.

Saldana is a twig and the only thing that worries me about GotG. She has negative physical presence. Just because she voiced a blue CG cat portraying James Cameron's vision of an American Native doesn't mean she's an action star. The Losers was the closest she's been to that, and she was by far the weakest actor in that movie. JDM and Chris Evans carried the entire movie for her.
That said, and as much as I think Katee would make a terrific Ms. Marvel, she'd need to hit the gym pretty hard. She has broad shoulders, but that's about it. The character needs some prime Jessica Biel-kind of body to make her justice.
Bug Jessica Biel needs to be She-Hulk anyway.

i don't have any scans, but uncanny xmen is putting a different take on it- sort of like blair is embarassed anyone remembers she was a disco queen.

someone on that writing staff is really enjoying milking the disco dazzler thing. it's popped up several times as a throwaway gag so far. I certainly hope

Cap was a solid film. It's no Iron Man, but putting it in the same box with Green Lantern, Ghost Rider 2, The Shumacher Bat-Films, Superman 3 and 4, Xmen Origins: Wolverine, X3, either of the Fantastic Fours, Elektra, or Blade Trinity is just wrong.

I'm with you on this. It had a good first half origin and then somehow the actual plot of the movie was a 45 minute quick cut montage of fight scenes and the bad guy being bad.
The montage was maybe 5 minutes...

that, and it skips over the "captain america is a joke character drug out by the government that no one actually respects" plot line that's the second third of the movie.
first third is origin, second is cap trying to overcome his status as a joke mascot, third is a validated cap going on missions his skills are appropriate for, losing men and dying in the process.

I'm surprised she's not been cast yet, Marvel wanted her for CA the Winter Soldier, but she turned down the role and Emily Van Camp got the part.
She was great in initiative.
Everything people wanted to see in a Captain America movie was in those five minutes though.

Could start off with a cameo. For example, have Carol Dancers as a SHEILD agent in Avengers 2, then a phase 3 lead role.
I still say Thor was worse than Cap, which was on its way to being Marvel Studios' best flick until it fell apart in the second half. That said, Green Lantern did kind of distract everyone from both movies that year.

That last part is almost PowerRangers bad. Cap I think has some truly stupid portions... but I honestly do love the new outlook on the Cappy A history. Cap punching Hitler tied to a skit than actually happening was funny to me.
Call me a freak but I've seen Cap a few thousands times and the only thing about it I don't love is Zola.
At least Thor had a good fight scene in it.
There was nothing good about Captain America. Well, other than it produced a Captain America for Avengers.

Though pretty much perfect in their respective roles, Hemsworth and Evans are definitely not great actors so much as incredibly good looking, capable and fairly charismatic ones.
