I think he has a point there since I didn't realize there was some sense of speed to be seen there untill I saw Cap inmobile there after the second viewing of the trailer is when I realize QS was running fast or something.

Kinda wish they went with DOFP style quicksilver in here though. That kind of speed looks better than what Whedon is doing here and avengers interaction with a sort of humorous nuisance character would have been hilarious

Hopefully they watched the raid series before they decided to give black widow dual batons, I want to see her put in work with them

I don't think anything from x verse would fit in the Avengers franchise. The MCU Qs seems to be getting a true build up with his sister not a scene , i would guess they are going to become full time members.

That's not really it, though. There's no weight or sense of speed to it at all. If there's supposed to be a change in speed, the change isn't drastic enough to carry it. If there isn't, Cap falls entirely too fast for the effect to be convincing. It is a tiny shot, yes, but it could be done better.

The problem is more with Cap than it is with Quicksilver, but they let Quicksilver move slower than he should when the "change" between his viewpoint and ours happens due to the turn into the wall just to show off the effect so we "get it", but we already "get it".


Poor Cap, though. All he wanted was a handshake.

It's a win/win situation because I only notice the lack of sleep after I'm done with the movies AND I'm at home which means I'll have an incredible relaxing night due to falling asleep almost instantly.

It probably has something to do with the fact that we are usually incredibly hyped during a marathon.

Hey, no criticism here. Sincerely, more power to you. I'd probably be checking myself into the ER for a migraine, be glad you don't have daily migraines or you wouldn't be able to do that ;)

yeah, there is no air impact, there is no dust in the air, and the fabric moves ordinarily. I think Days of Future Past made it work perfectly. Just look at this. The way his skin moves helps the efffect
 
Judging from the trailers it doesn't look like Quicksilver is in the final action scene so I won't be surprised if they kill him off in the second act to raise the stakes and get the other Olsen on good guys' side. Best to just leave the character for the X-Men movies since they seem to be handling him really well.

pretty sure we'll get the same time of reveal like we did in DOFP. Show his actual speed and then the slow down to realize what's going on.

Its just too bad that in DOFP, his speed is shown as almost God like. There is no reason this guy should fail at anything he tries to accomplish.

Looks to me like the speed effect is shown past versions of himself. What's the problem here anyway? I don't see the big difference with the X-men version but whatever, every speed effect has been done before and they all look mostly the same. Its a whooshing effect, big deal.
 
That was my favorite trailer yet for this movie. Can't wait to go see it and I hope by then I'll be able to see the BVS trailer before it in theaters.

Johnson is locked for more films but then again, it maybe a swerve.

it's fun to watch for sure, but quicksilver has no business being as fast as he was in that movie. he was used for that one scene then was gone for most of the movie because he would have completely broken the logic of it. hopefully they use him in a more sensible manner in Apocalypse because I'm looking forward to seeing him turn into an actual character rather than a plot device.

I hate that killing off people is now viewed as the only way to add tension to anything. Nobody dies at the end of Empire Strikes Back (unless you count being frozen in carbonite) and that movie had plenty of tension.

I can see the odd discrepancy there. I suppose there's still time to fix it, but I'm willing to bet we're catching just a one-second glimpse of a large 'Quicksilver kicks everyone's ass' sequence that will look generally good.

At least it looks like Quicksilver's punch is making contact with Cap.

They better fucking not kill off Quicksilver, the MCU is seriously lacking actual superpowered people, we don't need their necks snapped just for shock value

Considering that both Aaron Taylor-Johnson & Elizabeth Olsen signed multi-film contracts, both twins will most likely be fine.

I feel the same, but I wouldn't look at contracts for that. Literally every MCU actor signs those AFAICT. The kid in Iron Man 3 signed one.

Yeah I hope that, if Quicksilver is removed from the action in AoU, they have a better way of going about it than DoFP. Quicksilver's absence for the latter half of that film almost broke the entire thing for me, especially because they offered no good reason as to why Peter/Pietro just up and went home after the prison break instead of aiding the X-Men further.

Quicksilver is such a powerful character, it's extremely important to reign him in in an even semi-plausible way in order to give a story any kind of tension.

But how are they gonna resolve that plotline? James Gunn already said no Hulk in GotG2.

EDIT: Marvel fixed the stabilization issue.
