Sometimes the most important super heroes are the ones behind the scene. Marvel Television is heading to the half-hour live-action comedy arena with Damage Control, a single-camera comedy project based on the Marvel Comics books, which has received a put pilot commitment from ABC.

Developed for TV by former Daily Show and Colbert Report executive producer Ben Karlin, Damage Control follows the overworked, underpaid, clean up crew of the Marvel Universe. Specializing in dealing with the aftermath of the unique fallout from super hero conflicts, they’re the ones who are in charge of returning lost ray guns to their rightful owners, help to reschedule a wedding venue after it has been vaporized in a super hero battle, or even track down a missing prize African parrot that’s been turned to stone or goo.

I don't get ABC's love affair with doing more Marvel shows, but this sounds fun.

Odd that they are both developing work place comedies

$$$?

The super hero bubble is going to burst

I meant.. well right now most of their comedies do better than SHIELD and Carter...

So it's not like they need a comic version to help booster that area

And believe this is the.. 3rd Marvel show in the pilot stage on ABC for em

what? WHAT? Damage Control as in

this Damage Control? O_o

...what?

It actually could be pretty awesome. Kind of an even goofier version of GotG. I remember the comic from back in the day. Never read it but those covers are great..."When Doom Defaults!"

I thought Agents of SHIELD might have neem this at first, but was still happy with what we ended up getting. But Damage Control man, taking down Kingpin (since we know he'll probably get out of jail somehow) due to tax fraud would be incredible.

Single camera?

Does this mean the show will look like most other sitcoms? Not sure I like that part.

Edit: no wait, it means the opposite? So more like Malcolm in the middle and less Seinfeld?

Marvel and ABC are both owned by Disney. Disney wants their Marvel properties on TV.

I think Penguins point is more about popularity. Agent Carter and AoS get pretty mediocre ratings. ABC's non-Marvel shows are a lot stronger for the most part.

I know WHO owns ABC, but they didn't get Daredevil and stuff

I just meant, I don't know why ABC keeps getting these projects.. argh, it's a discussion I've had before.. whatever

I think it is genius, Marvel targeting properties for the correct place.

Gross sit comes like how I met your mother are multi-camera. Single camera is good. It will look like most high quality shows.
