Is it confirmed that he'll use the red suit throughout the season?

For all we know, he could just don the red suit during the last 5 minute of the season finale.

Only thing confirmed is that he gets the suit. We have no idea when or how. Considering the nature of dropping a whole series at once I doubt we'll find out until someone either spoils it or you find out by watching yourself.

My Foolkiller knowledge begins and ends with his 1990 rookie card,

He and Cage both play roles in Bendis's Daredevil. Cage is also currently on/in charge of the Mighty Avengers (two books: first Mighty Avengers, then Captain America and the Mighty Avengers). And he was in one of the New Avengers runs of the past ten years. I don't think he's ever had a solo series, and if he has, it's not held in high regard.

Cool, I recently bought book one of the Bendis Maleev Ultimate collection. Look forward to seeing them in that or the next volume.

That's so Top Cow it hurts, gotta love the 90's.

You leave Top Cow alone! ;) Witchblade was pretty bad ass for a TV adaptation of superhero comics considering when it was made.

I wouldn't mind modern Darkness series either.

I never watched the show but I recall bein disappointed in the costume! That would have been fun to see on daytime TV! Shame what happened to the actress and her alcoholism.

I remember the good old days of Top Cow. Witchblade and Darkness, then Fathom. Would love a good Fathom series or movie, but I doubt it'll ever happen. RIP Michael Tuner. :(

JMS almost got a Rising Stars movie off the ground too, but in typical JMS fashion, the entire thing fell apart, he got mad, demanded Top Cow return the rights to him or something and cease all "unauthorized" productions, and held the remaining issues' scripts hostage. That must have burned a bunch of bridges. Lol.

I'm pretty sure we're never getting Foolkiller in anything more than a villain of the week episode at best.
So him and Punisher have something in common.

Post B5 JMS ruins everything he touches. I still hate how he did The Twelve.

I don't really agree. I liked Rising Stars for the most part, even though it would have been way better with more consistent art. Changing artists all the time for a series with such a huge cast is just distracting. Midnight Nation was pretty good. Book of Lost Souls was pretty much Midnight Nation Mk2, and The Twelve was Rising Stars Mk2 w/ Marvel Golden Age characters. I enjoyed both of them too. It's fair to say that JMS tends to like using dark and edgy plot elements to make social commentary, especially in his comics, but for the most part it works for the writing he is going for. As long as we're not talking about Sins Past... lol.

He can still do quality stuff when he wants to, keyword is WHEN. The Twelve shipped on geological time.

Every time I go look in this thread, there's nothing about my beloved Daredevil. :(

I just want a trailer. Wonder when we'll get it.

In an aquarium fighting a black guy?

I kid, I kid.

The best interpretation of Punisher to slot into the MCU would be a hybrid of Rucka/Edmondson and throw in some Mike Baron. Bit lighter, bit more heroic, still tragic, but not completely disconnected from the human race. He's not so much a hollow burned out shell of a human being that kills to feel alive as he is a byronic hero doing his best and knowing he'll ultimately fail... but until he does, he's got a job to do.

And let's get some Big Boss Castle in here.

I agree gimmie that Rucka run

Some dude wrote an editorial on how the Punisher could be incorporated into the MCU:

Some decent points. Having him be referred to as a sinister urban legend through Phase 1 of the Netflix series would be a cool way to reference him without having show up until Phase 2 and build up that legend.

And honestly, I wouldn't mind if for the first iteration of the Punisher, they used the Marvel Noir variation with the creepy executioner hood before he gets his battle gear with the skull on the chest and ditches the mask.

Current run Punisher still uses the mask on occasion.

It's not super frequent though.

Yeah, I know. I'm reading the current run. I do love the mask. I think the Noir version just looks a bit creepier cause you can't see his eyes. Just black pits.

The mask would work though cause he could just slip it on and off with ease, making a suited nightclub shootout a breeze.

winkwink

But ultimately yeah, he'd eventually need his full battle outfit.

Honestly, I think the mask would work far better for a fresh Punisher than the current Frank Castle. In the current series, it's more plausible deniability if anything.

soooo this comes out before age of ultron wonder how this links up with the whole mcu

hells kitchen isn't even dangerous at all in 2015. Hell NYC isn't even dangerous

There also aren't any fucking aliens that invaded NYC! What the hell!

I think that's a pretty inane comparison - something that's blatantly and purely fantasy is pretty different from something that's just as removed from reality but claims to be doing so in the service of gritty realism.

Fortunately, DeKnight has strongly implied that there'll be an in-universe explanation for why MCU HK is so anachronistic.

He's too busy getting his ass kicked and being captured over and over in the new run to get his mask on.

If they do do a Punisher show they should get the guy who directed John Wick to run it, dude knows how to shoot some awesome shootouts.

Batman's "no-kill" method probably results in a lot of paralysis and death from shock/sustained injuries. Realism is never really a thing.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAH!

The two directors are also producing Keanu's new action series, 'Rain'. God, I'd love it if they headed up a Punisher series.

Welp, definitely need to watch this movie now.

I'm betting the Chitauri invasion on New York decimated Hell's Kitchen and turned it into a slum along with the Kingpin.

Kingpin profiteers off this by making "cheap affordable housing" which he overcharges for and turns the neighbourhood into his "testing ground" for drugs, racketeering etc.? Yeah, sounds about right.

Talk about realism, no real New York would get back on its feet the way the MCU New York has.
