Marvel's Defenders: Why is the Hand so Boring?

More importantly why is Danny Rand SO TEENAGE EDGY. He is so unlikable. Shadow the hedgehog in human form the EDGE.

He left New York as an adolescent and didn't get infected with real world New York cynicism like the rest of the Defenders. It's actually one of the things I enjoy most about him being there. He didn't "mature" the same way everyone else did.

Boy, him being a petulant self righteous shit sure makes me wanna root for him!

He seemingly didn't mature at all, they've written the character as if his personal growth stalled at the age he went missing but in reality growing up as the outsider in a foreign land under strict watch of martial arts masters should suggest he would be the most mature out of all the characters, especially considering how apparently successful he was at it, until he gets infected by the real world and learns to loosen up. Plus in Iron Fist he reminisces about his growing up with Davos, sneaking around etc. so while his adolescence might not have been standardly "western" / "New York" he clearly grew up, but the shows fail to reflect that in any aspect of his character.

cause they're shitty mystical ninjas. mystical ninjas in a show about new york city where they're trying to make it somewhat serious and grounded.

mystical ninjas.

they were better off having kingpin claw his way back to power and be the antagonist of the defenders but no, they just had to get mystical fucking ninjas.

Video was spot on. I don't think The Hand was ever meant to be the main villains. More of an organization that pops up here and there like in Daredevil. They should've came up with a different villain for the Defenders.

He’s just so moody and broody and edgy all the time. I would have liked a more naive, and vulnerable character since he’s a fish out of water. However, we get this no frills or fun or relatable character. I cringe watching him.

I understand he had some trama in his childhood but he’s just so unlikable....

I love Colleen she’s at least somewhat better written.

The hand is filler background, and death in these marvel series comes too quick and easy with no build up at all.
