According to Sony, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has received its official age rating.

According to the USK and PEGI, the game has been approved for 16 years of age. This is higher than for Spider-Man and Miles Morales, which were both released for 12 years.

No reason known
A concrete reason for the higher rating is not available at the moment.

I know this is unrelated, but my hype for Wolverine is growing still. Hoping we get a Wolverine vs Venom fight in the game to honor their rivalry from the comics. The Wolverine boss fight from Ultimate Spider Man for Venom was such a fan favorite moment, would love to get that again only this time as Wolverine.
