People want Spiderman in the Avengers?

I don't know.. takes away too much from him having better older much much more experienced heroes in the same city.
movie wise imo.

I actually thought Tony's "near death" was way more effective than it really should have been. I think him trying to call Pepper and not getting through was what really sold it for me.

That was a great touch. Bookended nicely with Cap talking to Peggy at the end of his movie, as well. When you're on a suicide run, you have to call your girl.

All I can think about is the scene in "Ultimate Six" where the Ultimates see Spidey for the first time and Tony asks "Did you get him from the past or something?"

Spider-Man would just look weird on the movie Avengers.

Speaking of that, I was hoping for a mention of Peggy for Cap, since they had Pepper in the movie for Tony, and Jane was mentioned as being safely hidden for Thor.

Get out. Really??
Yea. Someone else linked it earlier and the thread, and I noticed the ship date.

hope it holds up. i read it as a kid when it came out and i thought it was awesome.

I never read the whole thing as a kid, just bits and pieces. I bought the Infinite Gauntlet trade a few year ago when I got back into comics. That and Infinity War and Crusade.

See that's a good thing, because he can learn from them and it'd be nice to see another "acrobat" on the team. Plus that Spider-Wit.

They shot a scene where he finds Peggy and talks to her, but it was cut. It's supposed to be on the BluRay.

I thought that was supposed to be in Captain America. Quick Google search then led me to an article with Whedon talking about that being cut from The Avengers. I'd really like to see it now.

Spider-Man adds a really interesting dimension to the Avengers because of his secret identity. Everyone else in the Avengers doesn't really hide who they are, and Peter Parker does even from his fellow Avengers.

Noticed something during the shawarma scene (watched the movie again this afternoon - and yes, had a spicy chicken shawarma for dinner) and kinda chuckled.

Hawkeye's left leg and foot was resting on Black Widow's chair while they were eating. I'm curious to know who's idea it was to have him do that, but I liked the touch as it shows just how close the two characters are.

I keep getting the line muddled because its at the beginning, but Loki says something to the effect of "I am the bearer of a glorious burden" when he first shows up in the SHIELD facility. Anybody happen to know the exact line?

Dorky or not, the villain is top tier. Definitely a threat, and usually a well written one.
Up there with Doom at his best, which is saying something.

Let's not go that far.
Why is this still a spoiler? THANOS!
is god tier if you are going for "HOLY SHIT! WE ARE ALL FUCKED!" level threats. But as a character, Doom is king amongst villains in the comics.

Don't give me this bullshit guys, it's unacceptable. This isn't the proper Avengers yet, and the more the fucking merrier, I say. Now that the origins of Avengers are out of the way, there is room for screen time.

We need at least Ant-Man/Giant Man in some form. Bonuses would be Black Panther or Dr. Strange.

No, it's totally different. Kebab is mostly just burger meat on a stick. Shawarma is shaved chicken (or meat) that has been 'roasted' and sliced thinly and finely into shavings, wrapped into a sandwich.

I love it.

Yes, we need Pym. Because Pym means I get this:

And if I get that (and I NEED that), that means we get Vision.

I'm not sure adding more characters to the line up is such a good idea. Remember X-Men 3 and what a clusterfuck it was? Too many characters to juggle at once.

Also Hawkeye isn't reading...he's covering his massive boner.

Isn't that one of his legs propped next to Black Widow's ass?

Funny that you're using that image, considering that's the same spot they assembled at.
You think I didn't realize that? Pshhh.
holy shit mind blown

There are deleted scenes, apparently. No clue as to why it didn't make it in, though.

You see her picture in the flashback at the beginning, so technically she gets as much screen time as Jane Foster. :)
Speaking of flashbacks, anyone else surprised at how the Cap being thawed out of ice was literally a millisecond of screen time via flashback? I always assumed that would be a whole thing...

It would be a nice juxtaposition: where Bruce's Hulk side causes him tons of distress and lonliness, Jenn really loves being She-Hulk. So much so, that she prefers to just stay that way instead of reverting to human form much of the time.

She can revert to a normal human form????? mindblown o_O
