Not sure if there was another topic on it, but it hasn't been posted here yet. Bioware put up another concept screen : http://masseffect.bioware.com/downloads/

Looks like a bigger version of Chora's Den.

The girl in the hologram kinda sticks out....:lol

Wow awesome teaser. Maybe its a good thing shepard got killed, how the hell do you show footage of a main character when everbody their character looks different.

They could use the bald space marine model the used for 1.

Anyway concept art looks awesome.

I was walking down the hallway and spotted Geoff Keighley and Game Trailers TV interviewing Casey Hudson.

I knew that Game Trailers was in house to do some interviewing with Ray, Dan Tudge and some of the Dragon Age Origins team, but it seems they have managed to get some time with Casey (and possibly others on teh ME2 team).

I'll have to keep an eye on things and see what I can learn. (I may have to grab my camera as well and see if I can sneak a few pictures or video).

Stay tuned.

From the community coordinator at the ME forums. Also, this article from ripten about Cerberus got a sticky in the forum as well:

That wasn't a problem for ME1, and that has never been a problem for any other create-a-character videogame.

I think that is Chora's Den.

It's very similar but there is some differences, mainly, Choras Den didn't have two floors, and the dances were just on top of a platform, where here, they seem to have some holographic image coming in.

Hell yes.

And look at al those Bioware things around, if he's been in their offices, it must be a pretty nice unveiling.

Another concept art.

What could this be?
Jump Zero? Flotilla?
My guess would be
the flotilla
. I believe we see the other option as a backdrop at the end of the first game I don't remember it looking like that. Also that underarch looks like a massive thruster of sorts.

Ok, I'm replaying the gem which is ME 1, but I'm going for party member achievements and it loaded me in the Normandy and I can't remember who I used to have in my party.

Halp?

I think it looks a bit too high tech for the flotilla. I always imagined it to be a bit more of a rag tag fleet kind of a thing.

Maybe the Jon Grissom Academy?

The Jon Grissom Academy is a space station orbiting the human colony of Elysium. It was commissioned in 2176 and is named after Jon Grissom, the legendary Alliance hero, who has thus far refused all invitations to visit the station.

The Academy's primary purpose is as an educational facility for gifted children - mostly musical and mathematical prodigies. But its most prominent program is the Ascension Project, which helps biotic children maximise their potential.

Structured much like a traditional boarding school, the Academy has a small docking bay, dormitories and cafeteria, a hospital, and a large atrium with a waterfall and Elysium fir trees.

That's because it is.

I'm betting it's Jump Zero.

It does look very Reaper-ish, though.

I would guess
Jump Zero

I picked up the Platinum Hits version of ME yesterday... excited to finally play this game... :D

Getting the game, along with the DLC, an NXE theme and soundtrack is a great deal for $20. If the game is as great as it seems to be, I think everyone interested who doesn't own it yet should check out this version...

All so gorgeous - right-click save as for all high-res versions...

Man I love this game's design.

And I'd guess that the first concept art in my quote would be
Jump Zero
...

I will be damned impressed and will eat crow for the rest of my life if the game ends up looking at least like those wallpapers.

Me wantz more ME =(

Some parts in ME1 didn't look too far off from that second wallpaper. But yeah, I'm definitely in favour of more post-processing.

No I mean the areas always look more interesting in concept art than when you see them ingame

ME2 in upcoming OXM:

http://www.oxmonline.com/current_issue

From Chris Priestly @ BW Forums:

As I just mentioned on Twitter, OXM is in the office today talking to the team, looking at the game, etc.

I can't tell you what they will have in their magazine, but I can say you'll like it when you see it.

I just checked with the OXM folks. Today's Mass Effect 2 interviews, pictures, etc will be in the issue that ships to subscribers in mid to late May and will be on store shelves in early June.

Keep your eyes peeled for it.

BioWare about ME2 Co-op/Multiplayer:

http://news.softpedia.com/news/BioWare-Talks-About-Mass-Effect-2-Co-Op-109942.shtml

Role-Playing Games have become quite popular these days, largely due to the power of current-generation platforms, which allow developers to deliver a great and long experience to players without sacrificing anything.

Mass Effect was arguably one of the first next-gen RPGs, coming from veteran developer BioWare, which already specialized in such titles. It impressed critics and fans alike and is now gearing up for the release of its sequel, dubbed Mass Effect 2, which aims at further developing the deep and intricate story of the first one, while taking the whole gameplay closer to that of a shooter, in order to maintain the interest of players.

While talking about Mass Effect 2, the founders of BioWare, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, have tackled the subject of cooperative gameplay, a feature that wasn't in the first game, but, if it will make sense and appear central to the whole experience, might be included in the future title.

“Well, we haven't disclosed a feature set at this point,” Zeschuk, who concorded with Muzyka, said. “But multiplayer is something that, at a broad level, BioWare is interested in exploring in our games in the future.”

Greg Zeschuk then went on to further elaborate on the subject. “Multiplayer has to be central to the game to make sense. I think you see examples of games that have thrown in multiplayer modes that don't make any sense and then you see games that are built from the ground up as co-op experiences. Like ‘Left 4 Dead,’ for example. And I think that's the thing: when we do the multiplayer stuff, we'll do it as a foundation of the game. It's not worth it to throw it on after the fact.”

It's certainly good to hear that BioWare won't cut corners and really wants to keep the game as simple as possible, without throwing in something unnecessary. Hopefully, we will get to hear more about this game, which is currently scheduled for a release at the beginning of 2010.
