News of Mass Effect 3's add-on campaign—rumored weeks ago—has surfaced at EA's Summer Showcase event. Here's the description:

Mass Effect 3: Leviathan is the first story-driven, single player DLC to be made available since Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut. Leviathan expands upon the events of Mass Effect 3 with gripping and emotional storytelling, compelling new characters, powerful weapons and unique upgrades. Players will be able to discover more about the origins of the reapers as they race across the galaxy to unravel the mystery that surrounds the fabled Leviathan.

We'll have more on Mass Effect 3: Leviathan soon.

Taking place during the events of Mass Effect 3, players will be thrust into the darkest corners of space where they will hunt a mysterious being rumored to be powerful enough to destroy a Reaper. As they race against time, they will begin to unravel the secret of the Leviathan. Explore uncharted systems and new areas on the Citadel, interact with brand new characters, unlock the AT-12 Raider shotgun and M-55 Argus Assault Rifle and discover more about the mysterious history of the Reapers. Available on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Cost is $10 or 800 Microsoft points.

Complete the mission for a measly 10 war asset points.

Still doesn't change anything since it's set before the ending. :|

After finallly getting around to playing and beating the game this weekend, I can't really bring myself to care. Even with the Extended Cut DLC, the universe I know and love is no more regardless of what ending is chosen. If what I love isn't there anymore, what's the point?

I don't want to just shit all over the ending and I did love ME3, but after finishing the game with both my Renegade and Paragon characters I have no interest in going back to that world whatsoever.

I'm not sure if it's the ending or what, but something just made me feel like I was done with the universe for awhile. I'm a big fan of the lore surrounding the series (read all the comics and novels too) so maybe I just burnt out.

Count me in the "meh" crowd, especially if this takes place during the game and I'd basically have to start the whole thing over.

Started laughing out loud at work when it started talking about gripping and emotional story telling. Never again after DA2 and ME3 Bioware, never again.

I enjoyed ME3, but I have no intention of going back to that universe again any time soon. And I know I'm not alone on that here.

Gripping and emotional storyline? Gettttt the fuck outta here. Amelia Bedelia was more compelling than Mass Effect has ever been.

Will buy play and somehow enjoyed because I don't even fucking know any more.

I didn't buy the latest comics.

I guess that's something.

The lackluster ending has killed any enthusiasm I had for dlc. At least it's not taking over omega, that would have been a real bore.

Needs more empty buzzwords plox

No thanks. I haven't touched it since I beat it at launch and I don't plan to. BioWare's 'gripping and emotional storytelling' can die in a fire.

They are so stupid if they think anyone will care about this DLC, lol. They toyed with my emotions, by getting my hopes up that the EC might actually fix the ending, but all it did was add some context to a still shitty ending. I used to love new DLC back for Mass Effect 2, but now that we already know that the game ends with a huge stinker, there's no reason to care about the story anymore.

What's the point? Will youtube the story bits I guess. Totally over the series to the point of not buying anything related to it any more.

on their survey I rated some things positively to be sure, but I still clicked the undecided option for 'has the extended edition DLC restored your faith in Bioware?'.

It's going to take more than slightly fixing your colossal fuckup (only due to overwhelming fan outcry) to make me comfortably recommend your games again, sheesh.

I just don't care anymore.

Hope whoever gets it has fun, but I don't think I could bother giving them money for anything ME related after ME3.

Is this about a massive monster hidden underwater on a planet with the largest ocean in the galaxy?

Or is it on a dark spaceship with corridors called 'The leviathan'?
