Mass Effect Andromeda Deluxe and Super Deluxe to include free content in May

Is there a physical version for the deluxe version of the game? Also, is the only difference between the deluxe version and the super deluxe version the fact that you get 20 of those booster packs or whatever in the latter?

Yeah the super deluxe version seems purposefully set up to drive people into the deluxe version. It worked on me but I've never bought a standard version of any ME game lol

Cool. I grabbed the deluxe this morning. Was only $62 on Xbox since I already have EA Access.

If that's it I might go ahead and buy the deluxe as well. Does it automatically give you the EA Access discount no matter where you buy it from? Or do you have to go through their app to buy it?

If you're logged into your Live account the discount will automatically appear on the console store and website.

I'm confused on how this is free. It's in a more expensive edition that excludes people who only want to pay 60$ for a game that isn't exactly showcasing well. I mean by all means say that the Deluxe editions have more stuff now down the line but don't actually call it free.

IDK maybe I'm just being extra prickly about this since ME:A went from one of my most wanted games this year to not planning to buy it unless reviews are extremely positive.

My own personal Super Deluxe version of Mass Effect Andromeda is buying it when the price has dropped to $30 or $40 and getting a case of Miller High Life with the savings.

I'm not sure what's confusing. Had you pre-ordered the deluxe/super deluxe versions you would have had an expectation of all the things you see on the screen. Now you're also getting the stuff in May that is specified in the OP. It's more shit than you were expecting.

Like, consider if you bought in on a humble bundle, and then several days later they're like "oh btw, we're including more games in the bundle". That's more value. It's expected these days, but the first time it happened it was like "whoa, cool, we get more for our money". It isn't quite the same, but the principle is there.

Sounds like that's the case that you are just being picky about it and I really don't get why it went from your most positive to not buying it at all.

That would kind of be bullshit if it's more than advertised. Because, them maybe more fans would have opted into the $10-30 more.

In addition to all of this, in May 2017, owners of the deluxe and super deluxe editions will have more to look forward to.

One exclusive multiplayer pack – your highest chance of getting an ultra-rare item
Two additional custom Nomad skins
One additional Pathfinder casual outfit

Eh, I am okay without that.

I pre-ordered this last week knowing what content it included, and now, at no additional cost to me, I am receiving more content.
I think this logic only works if they announce stuff after the game has been released, after you've actually bought the game. Because now you still have the opportunity to evaluate the proposition, decide whether this justifies the additional cost over the standard edition. This is not additional free content, it is part of the Deluxe package.

Which doesn't seem that bad of an offer to be honest. Mostly because of the soundtrack. And the space monkey.
Hope it'll be more active than the space hamster. Hope it does space monkey things.

edit: Is it Origin exclusive? Never mind then. Origin pricing is whack.
Standard on GMG: ÂŁ41.99/455 SEK
Deluxe on Origin: 699 SEK
$27 is a bit more than $10.

And the GMG price is still high compared to games that aren't Origin. Wildlands and Nier, for instance, are ÂŁ32.79. EA is driving up prices everywhere.

I did it through the store on my Xbox. The discount shows up automatically adjusted into the price. 7 days left on the deal. 👍

Personally I disagree because I preordered deluxe, and I'm pleasantly surprised by this news. But beyond that, I disagree on your other point as well.
Go for the eyes, Boo. Go for the eyes! RAAAAAAAAH

No pics of the outfits?

I kinda miss when they did cross-over themed armours (DA2/Dead Space/ME2 &3).

I miss that too. Plus the armor design for Dead Space is just exceptional.

It could be because pre-orders just went through? My card got charged two days ago I think, so technically some of us already did pay for a specific set of deluxe content, and now we're getting more. So to those of us that already bought it, this message of "free stuff" does apply.

It's also just a couple cosmetic things, not really a big deal. A lot of games toss in little shit like this after the fact.

I got the deluxe for the pet Pyjak can't lie.

He best do tricks and shit Bioware.

Not to mention the romance options!

Yeah that would be terrible if they didn't tell you NOW, when you still have plenty of time to switch your pre-order should you want to.

If you were already sold on the thing and more is added to it, you'll be even more satisfied with the offer. But this stuff's no more free than the other stuff you get when paying for it. It's a better offer, but as far as I'm concerned, them announcing this just means we now know we'd also be paying for this new stuff. But you know, eh, if this feels free to someone, that's cool.

Anyway, no one knows what a space monkey could do, meaning this space creature is potentially capable of doing anything, including making all of your space hopes and space dreams come true.

Fair enough.

This really frustrates me. There was no physical version of the deluxe edition on PC - in fact, there was no physical version on PC at all until just recently.

I bought that version because I wanted something physical to go along with the rest of my entire ME collection. :/

I'm still awaiting announcement of a SUPER DUPER OMEGA HYPER TURBO EXTREME MOUNTAIN DEW DELUXE edition.

I mean, I'm still hoping they release a version of mass effect 2 & 3 with all the DLC. The only reason I havent played through 3 again on PC is because I'm not paying full price for all that DLC twice.

Last I heard they changed gears on doing a remaster of 1-3. They finally figured out there is a huge market for it. Hell, I'm included. I'll play through the series again with all DLC happily.

...seriously? I would be in second one of day one if that happened.

Electronic Arts hasn’t remastered any of its previous-generation games for the current consoles — yet. That could change soon, starting with the Mass Effect franchise, reports Game Informer.

Last year, EA Studios executive vice president Patrick Soderlund told Game Informer that the company had considered remastering titles like Mass Effect, but had decided to focus on new projects instead. Things have changed, though, largely because EA now sees a demand from fans for remasters.

"The honest answer is that we are absolutely actively looking at it," Soderlund told Game Informer during an interview at Gamescom 2016. "I can't announce anything today, but you can expect us most likely to follow our fellow partners in Activision and other companies that have done this successfully."

Activision has released remasters for series like Prototype and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and theyÂ’ve gotten a poor reception due to technical issues and high prices. According to Soderlund, EA doesnÂ’t want to make the same mistake.

"There have been titles that have come out that have done it really well, and there have been others that maybe haven't done it so well," Soderlund told Game Informer. "We just want to make sure that we stay in the ‘done it really well’ camp."

For now, the only Mass Effect project thatÂ’s in development is Mass Effect: Andromeda, which is set for release in early 2017 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

I hope we get a remastered trilogy soon now that development of Andromeda is finished. My only request would be that they fix the import bugs present in ME1 > ME2 and retcon the ending in ME3 so they are not written into a corner as they are.

The Super Deluxe Edition is $130 on Aus XBL. Waaaaay too expensive.
The "regular" version is $100 AUD on XBL too. Its only $70 for a physical copy from a retailer (JB Hi Fi). Bleh.

Lol thats not free seeing how much it costs those "deluxe" versions in PC origin. The normal starts there at 60 euros and I got it for 42 euros physical on amazon just right now.
The other versions cost 69 and 89 and they are only digital on the origin store, talk about stealing your users lol

Eh just read what is included. Considering I can get the standard pc edition via gmg or cdkeys for like 46-50 bucks I think I'd rather do that. I can't justify having to pay 20 more bucks just so I can have a pet monkey. Regardless he would have driven me bananas
