Mass Effect Trilogy launching on December 4th for PS3

Will get the first game from PSN day 1. I hope their promise is true and it runs better than on 360. Don't care for the rest, 'cause I hated 2 and 3 seems to be even worse lol.

Good news. Any word on the size of the digital version?
~8GB for NA and ~11GB for Euro version (extra VO language options).

Oh. Didn't know. I 'll get that version then. I like owning physical copies of things but i'll make an exception.

The info about the PSN release is in the OP right? Junior for life.
It is except for the price. : P

$15 is confirmed? Sweet.

Really can't wait to finally play this. I had a lot of fun playing 2 & 3 despite that.
I can't seem to find the original source where I got that, but I found this:

Ryan Warden, ME Franchise Producer: $14.99 I think

Found it, ME site trilogy FAQ states $15 for PSN version of ME.

I am a PS3 owner and I have never played this series, but always wanted to.

This is made for me.

Though I wish they'd done the full trilogy for Wii U.

me2 is the worst ports ive played on ps3.

Its so bad that some of the "hoover" levels lack texture filtering and is all pixelated.

Honestly i dont know how the 360 version is. But the whole game feels amatureish and disjointed.

I only played the demo but this is hyperbole at its finest

It really is. I have completed Mass Effect 2 two times on 360 and once on PS3 and I can confirm that the post made by that other user is bullshit. The framerate is worse, especially in the fire walker missions. But worst port on PS3? Not even close.

Yeah, the framerate is really the main issue. All other aspects of ME2 and 3 were translated properly. There are ports out there with both severe framerate issues AND massively downgraded visuals. Splinter Cell Double Agent is, perhaps, the best worst port out there. Truly vile, but I suspect there are others that can compete.

EDIT: Actually I only had 18GB left. Do the game installs demand two times the space of the file, like I remember reading somewhere over here?
They do. The download requires xGB, but the installation also requires another set of xGB. After the installation the downloaded file will be deleted. Think of it like a zip/rar file on a PC and the installation as the extraction of the file followed by the deletion of the original.

Fuuuu... I think I have to delete some PS+ games then.

They should release some footage of Mass Effect on PS3. The fact that they haven't a week from release concerns me just a little bit.

I’m happy to announce that on December 4, 2012 PlayStation 3 owners will be able to play the original Mass Effect for the first time, either by getting the Mass Effect Trilogy in stores or downloading Mass Effect as a standalone title through the PlayStation Network.

I can't wait.

I do wonder how the loading times are in ME1 though....

I had completely forgotten I "claimed" the Mass Effect (PS3) OT, I should probably get started if it is out a week tomorrow, lol.
Any title suggestions?

Ignore any posts about ME2 being terribad on the PS3, I put 60+ hours into both the 360 and PS3 versions of that game and both were completely competent.

Time Paradox

About damn time

PS3 is my favorite system on the citadel

Just when i thought i was out.....

Eh. I tried.

Now I can finally play this game.

Refused to pick up ME2 and ME3 without ever having played the first. Really bugged me that it wasn't available.

I kinda wish I had done the same. Too bad Bioware/EA made it seem like the first one would never come to PS3.

In the perfect world where ME3 is just as good as the first two games I'd be buying this right now for my collection. But in our world I recommend everyone to stay away. You will be crushed and angry.

ME1/2 come with all the DLCs anyway, so you'll be fine there. From Ashes in ME3 is pretty cool, think it's about £8 on PSN?

I thought the trilogy was just the core games? Great news if its all included :)

edit: Just read about it, sounds great. Is the DLC properly integrated? ie. does it pop up at the right time, or do you select it at any time from a list of missions? Also, is it on-disc, or download codes

Will definitely buy it new now that I know its on there

Oh, before I forget. Is the new ending to ME3 on the disc?

It's just the core games on the other platforms I think. ME2 PS3 was a late port, so had all the DLC included in the first place, whilst this ME1 port is brand new for the collection, and they're throwing the DLC in whilst they're at it.

Pretty great deal for PS3 users!

Can someone provide me a list of DLC across the series that's worth playing, and the likely prices on UK PSN?

Cheers :)
If you're buying the PS3 Trilogy there's not much DLC missing :)
ME1 comes with bring down the sky already included and that's the only DLC worth playing.
ME2 with everything important except Arrival. I don't like arrival very much but I think the story is relatively important. The price is £5,50 on PSN.
ME3 is missing all DLCs. From Ashes is ok. The actual mission rather short, but the new team mate is great and has many dialogues even during the normal game outside of the DLC mission (£8). Leviathan is one of my favourite DLCs. Nice gameplay and very good background information (£8). I haven't played Omega yet but hear mixed opinions (£12)

Ouch. That is a lot of money on top for the full experience. £33.50 for the DLC, £40 for the core trilogy

Any idea whether they ever run offers, discounts or price drops on that stuff? Cheers for the answers btw. That goes for you as well Ein Bear :)
