Wait what are you serious? Pyramids are child play compared to most major feats of architecture/engineering today.
Show me something that is more impressive than the pyramids then. Keep in mind that the Great Pyramid of Giza is nearly 5000 years old and wasn't surpassed in height until recently.
Really? Why would that be your first thought.

I think he was being sarcastic, as in when something bad happens people always think muslims first.

That's what happens when the cats take over, they exterminate all the dogs. Good thing humanity outsmarted the cats. They still hate us over it, years later. But, cats will never be in control again.

Let me know when the geniuses of today build structures as impressive as the pyramids.

The hell? The pyramids are impressive from a logistics POV (which is easier when you have essentially a theocracy and thousands of slaves), they are nothing special engineering/architecture wise.

Wait, wasn't it proven quite recently that the pyramids were not built by slaves at all and that's a fallacy? I'm fairly certain they found gravesites of the workers and they were buried with dignity and much like any other normal person. A slave wouldn't be given that right.

The pyramids are also burial grounds and nobody has to live in them.

The buildings of today are more complex yes but idk if that makes them more impressive feats. You have to consider the context of time and resources available as well. We have vertical construction down to a science now a days. Partly thanks to the work that went into structures like the pyramids.

Even if they were built by slaves (they weren't), I don't see how that makes it any less impressive.

What about something like the Iron Bridge

The first metal arch bridge

A lot smaller than the pyramids but fairly revolutionary and the lessons learned in its construction pretty much changed the world

The pyramids weren't built by slaves. In fact, it seems like the construction workers were rather well-paid by Egyptian standards based on what they were eating.

Has this been proven for all of the pyramid workers, or only the skilled labour? Someone still had to drag those stones to and from the quarry site.

EDIT: Looks like that is the case from a quick glance online.

Still, tens of thousands of people working for 30 years can accomplish a lot.

IIRC

It has been thought for a while that the Pyramids were built via a sort of labour tax during the time during which the Nile flooded and people were unable to work the fields. Prior to the building of the Aswan dam, the Nile would flood every year, depositing fertile silt on the fields of Egyptians, but this would mean they were unable to do any work.

So instead they would work for the Pharaoh, an early form of pre-coinage tax.

There were a lot of finer details which went into their construction. The pyramids of Giza align with constellations, maintain an accurate temperature inside. The stones are carved precisely to the thousandth of an inch and contain compounds which humans still haven't found a way to recreate.

That's just some of the fun facts, there's even more. Pretty impressive considering it was built thousands of years ago and can be seen from outer space.

Am I really in a thread where the achievement of the pyramids has to be defended?

And are we really that surprised about all of the dead dogs?
