The pillar is illuminated by very strong light, hence there's bloom. When the shadow passes over it the bloom decreases because the area is now darker. Also, if the game had any form of SSGI (which it doesn't, per Guerrilla presentations) the pillar wouldn't bounce light on itself, that makes no sense.
One of the things that I love most about Killzone is the music. The opening/menu theme music of both Killzone 2 and 3 still rate among my top orchestral pieces. I hope that Shadow Fall can exceed the previous titles.
Best part of this video is that it's a long stretch of pure, classic shooter gameplay. No gimmicks, and no constricted set pieces. It makes me want to jump in there and control it myself. I hope there is more use of this "wide linear" kind of pacing alongside stuff like the Feb 20th reveal sequence.
