I thought the batman was excellent, it felt closer to my idea of batman , a quiet shadow detective who stomps when he has to. The nolan films were great especially after batman went all goofy in the 90s, and dark knight captured the joker batman dynamic. But nolan went way too far into the realistic and his gotham was bland as hell. No ones out gothamed burton but the batman came the closest and theres so much more to see of that city.

More importantly, the penguin was such a great show that it elevated the movie even further.
