Mavericks trade Luka to Lakers

Hey Nuggets. We have a Draymond we'll give you for Jokic. We'll even throw in a first and Looney. Deal?

This trade is patently absurd on every level. As a huge sports fan I feel gutted for Mavs fans...teams and fans wait decades to get this sort of a player and they just tossed him out like yesterday's garbage.

Well the good news is that Mavs tickets prices are gonna go way down.

Too bad I've lost all interest in going. What a collosal fuck up. He was supposed to be the next Dirk. You don't trade Dirk, morons.

This is why the NBA is a fucking joke. The commissioner is a cuck. Trade should had been blocked immediately, and the league should investigate both GMS for conspiracy and also the new ownership group.

The Warriors owner almost got boo'd out of the Arena for trading Monte freaking Ellis. I can't even imagine the anger that is going to rain down at the next Mavs home game.

Washington dumped Kyle Kuzma long term contract for a two year contract, for Middleton which would be a trade asset next season with only two years remaining. Something larger may be going on.

I wonder if the HUGE TV contract NBA signed was based on ratings and with tv ratings going down, owners may not want to pay out of pocket. I again, contend foreign investment like China and the Middle East in the NBA may be drying up and sports leagues may be looking around at each other say "uh-oh".

Keep watching and see if teams start dumping salaries.

Looks like Nico Harrison, the Mavs GM that orchestrated the trade, is getting fired today. Set that franchise back big time. They need to trade all players of value and start over with Flagg.

Too bad we extended Kidd this offseason and have ownership that is somehow worse than Mark Cuban. On the bright side, the Luka trade made Jerry's trade of Micah hurt a whole hell of a lot less.

Mavs have super stars in kyrie and Flagg, Kidd is a good coach, sure you want Luka back but I'm confident mavs will be fine. At this point I'd take Flagg long term over Luka just based on what I see, Luka's 3 still struggles, and his defense is still a problem.

Call me crazy but I want to keep AD, Klay, Kyrie, and the crew.
We just need to get everyone healthy and get some time jelling as a team.

You can't bank on either AD or Kyrie staying healthy especially as they're getting older. I think both of them are a perfect fit next to Flagg though.

AD and healthy are the antithesis of one another. Klay is washed and has never played consistently well in a Mavs jersey. Trade AD, hope you can trade Klay, sit Kyrie for the rest of the year. I'd also look to get more future assets by moving DLive (love him but you can't count on his health), Gaff (love him too, but we are asset poor), and PJ (good Swiss army knife for a contender, which we aren't). Send D'Lo far, far, far away.

Let's be honest — the NBA has fallen apart under Adam Silver. He's easily the worst modern-day commissioner in pro sports. The league is nearly unwatchable and has been for most of the last 15 years.

The Cavs–Warriors years were the last time the NBA felt alive. Since then? Stale storylines, load management, and identical play styles. Even MLS feels more authentic now. The tanking TV ratings say it all — fans have checked out.

The NBA used to be fast, fun, and easy to follow. The playoffs once had real drama and emotion. Now it feels manufactured, like a scripted product.

And with the FBI gambling probe and Niko's firing, I honestly believe there are "rigged" elements in play. The NBA's starting to look more like WWE — and honestly, WWE probably does it better.
