Did you know there are as many chemicals in a Big N Tasty as there are in cigarettes?!?!?
Did you hear about this chemical that's in every McDonald's burger? It's called dihydrogren monoxide, it's deadly if you inhale it, and it's the main component of acid rain!

In Brazil, we got the Cheddar McMelt as a regular burger, and from what i remember, in the United States it was only available in a short period of time as a special burger...

mc_melt.jpg

According to Wikipedia:
Brazil

McDonald's offers Cheddar McMelt, a sandwich with beef burger, cheddar cheese and grilled onions flavored with soy sauce.
The buns are Whole Wheat. If i remember correctly, it didn't make much success in the USA because people didn't like the Whole Wheat bread, so they made a regular buns version available, but it didn't catch on either.

Here's two nice links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonald's_products_(international)

People i know that went to America say that McDonalds down here is better-tasting than the ones up there.

That's mostly because the ingredients McDonalds uses inside a country all come from the same distributor, so every McDonalds in Brazil tastes the same. In america, obviously, the ingredients come from a different source. And people get used to the taste of the place they eat more.

So, what I want to know is, does the food taste better? And, is it not as bad for you? Is there actual quality in the food?

I think the quality in the US, when it comes to fast food, has gone into a downward spiral over the years. Even Wendy's has gotten worse. And it's a noticeable change, not just nostalgia making me think the food was better in the past.

how do you even eat this? I mean, without a dislocated jaw.

What I dont understand is how a burger like that didnt show up in the US first, especially since we're supposed to be fat :lol

McDonalds in Japan wins because I can order a teriyaki burger and grape Fanta.

Plus coming from a place where people just leave their shit on the tables and recycling is too much of a pain in any context, I was amazed in the Tokyo ones to see that they ask you to sort your trash before throwing it away - paper, plastics, cups, food waste, etc - and people actually do it. I can see all the morons around here doing that...

I always try to leave the table looking somewhat clean, personally dont see how people can just leave junk on the table unless the clean up person happens to walk by and says they'll get it for you.

EDIT: Jack in the box is awesome. They serve curly fries.

We got this here in Finland:

But yeah, that's pretty much the only interesting fact about Finnish McDonald'ses.. They all look the same.

Haha "northest".

i remember when i was a kid in LA there was some kind of futuristic/space McDonalds but now i can't remember WTF it was or if it was the only one of its kind. Google was no help.

The problem is that Braziloand McDonald´s is freaking expensive and the burgers keep getting smaller and smaller. Plus, last time I went to one, the burgers looked (more) terrible than the normal. It seemed they were mounted by a cheap-ass monkey.
For the same price, or even less, you can have a decent meal (with rice, beans, salad, meat, fries, etc). So I only eat there when there´s no other place available.
But I like their vanilla soft ice-cream (being cheap is an extra point).

:lol Sorry, the way that's worded is priceless.

How does that even make sense?

I remember in the early 90s when McDonald's used to say "100% American beef" on each wrapper. Then they stopped... prolly because they're getting all their beef from Brazilian ranches created from Amazon deforestation.

Damn! :lol
In my defence it was used with the assembled meaning in mind! Sorry for the (possible) double interpretation.

Braziloland is not a country that makes sense!
And yes, a meal is cheaper than fast-food.

From personal experience, that varies from place to place. Some McDonalds have the most retarded people making the sandwiches, while others people are capable of making a good one.

It depends, as usual, on the employers/managers. I've only heard horrible stories from working on .BR mcdonalds, so that's prolly part of the reason.

For the same price, or even less, you can have a decent meal (with rice, beans, salad, meat, fries, etc).
That's because, as usual, in Brazil, you're paying more for the brand than the actual ingredients.

I still love me some cheddar mcmelt tho.. :D

OP means McDonald's in Asia (generally Japan, Taiwan, and Korea).

There's also no dollar menu or I suppose the hyaku en menu.

Is the Big Tasty sold anywhere outside of the UK?

Giant image that's the best I can find right now.

They do a version with bacon on as well. For some reason thy only ever bring it out for a limited time and then stop. I would buy that all the damn time if they let me.

It's basic selling point is that it's a McDonalds made like a proper burger. Emmental instead of plastic cheese, fresh lettuce, that kind of thing.

Brazil has them. So expensive, though. =(

Please someone post a picture of what a Japanese Big Mac actually looks like, not an advertising picture. I want to see!

There is a McCafe (basically an "upscale" McDonalds) right near my house here in Atlanta that is far nicer than any McDonalds I ever went to in Japan.

But Japanese Mickee D's generally have cleaner stores and faster service, not to mention the exclusive burgers.

You mean there isn't a picture of one in the McGangBang thread?

McDonalds in Japan doesn't give me explosive shits so that wins.
And the Juicy Chicken Sandwich is amazing. <3

You would be surprised.. they actually look mostly like the ads. They usually take a lot of care when making the hamburgers. I have yet to see any hamburger like the ones I had in Spain where sometimes the lettuce would be almost about to drop, or the cheese was half inside, half outside, etc..

Here's a video I made of when I was able to get my hands on a Mega Tamago a little over a year ago. It still surprises me how nicely the sandwiches come out.

It's a bad habit, not trying to make it funny.

While I'm happy McD's offer really cheap 100yen food items, its a sad picture seeing salarymen all cramped up at the place, smoking like crazy and drinking coffee during the morning rush hours.

I want a pleasant breakfast with my McD's pancakes, not some fart smoke all over my face :/

That sandwich is terrible in my opinion. They confused Juicy with Greasy just like everyone does in this country. The wrapping the thing came in when I ordered it had become transparent from the grease. It was disgusting in my opinion, but I am not particularly a fan of McDonald's in the first place. When I go there I usually only order the Chicken Filet'O Set. I used to just get McChickens when they were on the 100 Yen menu, but now they have completely disappeared.

In terms of taste, I honestly can't tell much of a difference between McDonald's back in Seattle and here in Japan. The service and level of cleanliness is obviously miles better, though.

It's not just Japan. I went to a new McDonalds in India little more than a year ago....much better than any one I've seen in the US.

Cheesemeister, Subway in Japan is awesome because they serve Pepsi instead of Coke.

I lost almost 20 pounds while in Japan for 3 months and on average probably hit a McDs or Mos Burger twice a week, so it must be better.

Someone needs to post pictures of McPizza.

Really? I've never had one of the sandwiches like that. Mine never have the wrapping transparent and there is really nothing coming from the sandwich until I bite in. And the mayo, too. Om, nom, nom.

I've lost 30 since coming to Japan and I'm still dropping. It's the lifestyle, for sure, because I still eat like shit.

Well if we're doing that then one of the best burgers I've ever had was a Butterburger when I was in the US last year. I have no idea what's in that thing and dammit, I don't want to know.
Butterburgers are so goddamn unhealthy, I have a friend with a high metabolism that eats those things and grease just oozes out of them.

Aren't they just really buttery burgers?

By the by, am I the only one who eats at McDonalds at least once per visit when in the States? I've made it a tradition now. I just get a feeling saying "I am in America. I should have some greasy ass fast food at McDonalds".

remember the giant playsets some McDonalds had? I remember some kid taking a dump on the slide once and making a huge scene. It's just a good thing all this nonsense wasn't happening a glass window away from where people were eating...oh wait

Yes, in fact, there is. I order Apple Pies from it.

While I know you are joking, McDonalds' in the US gets a fair amount of its beef from New Zealand (as does Australia).
