Yes.

Tokyo's Quarter Pounder only stores are very nice.

And McDonalds in America is the worst in the world, that's a fact. I can't eat at McDonalds in America cause it's so greasy and disgusting.

That doesn't look very... tasty. Plus it looks like a common BigMac?...

Ummm ... there's only one patty ... and I see no tell-tale signs of special sauce.

How does this in any way look like a BigMac?

I loved the McVeggie we had over here in Belgium.
But it seems like I was the only one buying their vegetarian burgers as they discontinued them.

One of the best burgers I've ever had.... :(
I had those a few times when I was visiting Amsterdam. Very nice. I liked that it looked and tasted like it was made from vegetables, rather than be a meat substitute.

Anybody eaten at a kosher McDonalds in Israel, and if so, how is it? I really want to eat McDonalds, but I keep kosher. It is a goal in my life to stop through the middle east and have some kosher McD's one day :D

Don't they not have French Fries in Japan? If not, fuck that. Don't care how awesome the scanning dealieo, French Fries = the reason to go to eat fast food.
All the fast food restaurants changed the fry oil a few years back, and now they oversalt them to hide the fact that they have no flavor. You either have to make your own now or find a decent local grill.

As Zefah said nothing really different in the taste, just the level of service and cleanliness is better in the shops in Japan. But that's pretty much a given in any restaurant, service in Japan is miles ahead of anywhere else I've been.

Disgusting. Seriously, don't go to McDonald's in Israel. Burger King is better but still disgusting.
There are a lot of places selling kosher (basically no bacon/cheese on the menu) patties for the same price that are infinitely better, and you barely have to look for one. McDonald's and BK are mostly for kids who want the happy meal over here. Most people won't touch that stuff if they have even half a brain.

Fries do taste different in Japan though. Burgers seem to be the same though.

Fries are pretty similar maybe cooked a lot more properly and not quite as salted.

Went to one yesterday. Got a good ol'big mac and the Teriyaki Egg burger. That wasn't too shabby surprisingly.

Please someone post a picture of what a Japanese Big Mac actually looks like, not an advertising picture. I want to see!

Dunno why I was thinking of GAF while eating, but eh.

Probably because they are actually freshly made, as opposed to the been sitting in the bin rubbery fries you get at McD in the US 90% of the time.

I believe you, OP. Between all the praise McDonalds Japan has received both on NeoGAF and IRC over the years, I take these numerous claims as the absolute truth. Seriously. :lol

The newer grilled chicken club sandwiches are the only good thing McDonalds USA really has going for it...

Actually, I remember a thread here where the OP tried to order the burger without fries and they were dumbfounded by the notion. Wouldn't let him do it.

I hear that Pizza Hut is like a real restaurant in China. It looks like McDonalds is like that in Japan. I needs me some foreign American fast food.

In Brazil, at Pizza hut they put your pizza in a small table next to yours, and the waiter will serve you each slice.

i was hoping that bump would be a report on the idaho burger within literally one hour of its release, but it was not to be.

i will check it out tomorrow anyway, looks pretty awesome.

Thought MdDonalds in Japan was nowhere as good tasting for the same foods, something just tasted off. Plug the drink/fries portions are small and in general it's more expensive. Course it was better than China... the Chinese McDonalds just tasted nasty

KFC is more popular no doubt, I would say even Pizza Hutt seemed more common to find than McD's when I've been to China.

But the KFC's in China were.... ugh. Grey meat chicken tenders.....

Sounds kind of nasty.

KFC in Japan is fucking delicious. Good meat, and Tempura-style breading.

Anyone else been to a Pizza Hut in China? Shit kinda weirded me out. It was all decked out in this chic modern design and they had fancy drinks and desserts. Pizza was awesome too. I had some kind of "Mongolian BBQ" toppings on mine.

I tried MOS Burger once in Akihabara : rice instead of bread is awesome.
rice burgers are great until you realize that you can get onigiris for half the price at your 7 elevens ( or better local market onigiris)

Yup, and they have a big menu. One of our business partners had pork knuckle at Pizza Hutt while we had pizzas. And cute serving girls who hovered around the table constantly trying to refill your drinks after each sip.

the japanese big mac that revenant kioku posted looks interesting..maybe proportionally different than an american one? the bun seems kinda big. the lettuce seems less shredded. there isn't sauce dripping off it. ah well, i'd still eat the hell out of it. any photos of that big stacked tamago burger in it's natural environment?

i was ready to come into this thread and talk shit on mcdonalds that exists in every country other than mine, but after seeing such an outpouring of appreciation for this great american fast food chain, i'm just overcome with happiness. mcdonalds is the best food in the WORLD. WOOO. group hug with me and every mcdonalds from finland to japan to australia with that shitty looking root on the burger.

Been to the ones in Hong Kong and I use to order delivery on occasion from them.

Man the pizzas over there are a hell lot better than the huts in the states.

Any of you guys ever been to this one?

%233%20-%20Worlds%20Biggest%20McDonalds.jpg

Picture addresses say it's probably in the south/southwest.

I was about to say "is this the one above the turnpike in Chicago". We stop at that one every time we're going through Chi-town.

Seriously FACT, you can't even try to argue it. Me and a friend were there last year in march and we would go out to a concert, at that time The Album Leaf was touring and after in the evening we would go and have some Mcdonalds. You know how pretty the burgers are in the picture here in the states, well they actually look like that!

And forget about being served by some guy on parole, you had actually normal working class people there, for once I didn't have to keep my eyes on the people making my food to make sure they dont fuck with my Big Mac (I live in NYC)

It's the only time I would consider having fast food more than once a month, when I was in Japan.

9/10 I'd choose Mos or... I think it was Fresh Burger? Those were some tasty-ass burgers.

I love their ebi burger, though. Yummy. I've also had the big mac and fries in Tokyo, and didn't notice even a hint of a difference. Shrug.

Agree with OP, Japanese Maccas shits on Australian Maccas, I tried stuff I could and couldn't get at local Maccas and it was all amazing. I'm gonna try American Maccas next week but I'm not expecting much other than hardened arteries.

Although I preferred Lotteria burgers in Japan even better, little flavour bombs:

if you like cheese (like me) then Swiss McDonald's can't be beat:

McRösti is perhaps the greasiest thing I've ever eaten.

and burger king has also gotten on the bandwagon:

Huh, haven't seen the Burger King one yet. However, the second BK only opened here a month or so ago.
