My biggest concern is if the Fallout 4 executable is 64bit ready or the game is large address aware to so it doesn't reach some out of memory issue.

Skyrim's biggest problem early on at launch was that it was a 32 Bit application, and when the game hit the cap of 3.5GB of memory used, it CTD.

Even after Bestheda made a Large Address Aware fix, core mechanics of the game were still designed to load 512mb chunks at a time up to a threshold of 3.5GB.

I hope Fallout 4 is 64bit ready. A large open world game with heavy mod support can use all of the memory it can get. This is even especially true for a Bethesda open world game.

64 bit is now absolutely common so no worries to have. Look at your average AAA PC multiplat game on PC and they're all 64 bit.

Long overdue imo.

When I was at EGX and waiting for The Division, I watched people play the new AC. Assassins Creed Syndicate was broken as fuck.

Ubisoft have fucked up again. I saw people getting stuck in walls, people floating away and there is this new technique where you can pretend you are being escorted by a guard who is secretly a friend in disguise, the guard got stuck to the player. The player was climbing, running and jumping with this guard attached to the assassins body.

By all means, this could be an old build. But holy fuck even if it is there is a lot to fix.

It's fucking criminal what I saw if that is whats being shipped.

Not saying the game will not be broken at release but you have been watching is months old demo build that was juts build to just give the player an impression of the final game and will not represent the final game. In fact, AC series are notorious for putting up demos that aren't made into the final game (AC 3 being a prime example) it just happened that the last one's demo is not as optimised as it should.

My guess is it gets worse than last Xmas... The only way it gets better is if people stop pre-ordering and stop buying broken games at launch. Hard to do this if most games bought are presents though.

Babel’s functionality QA director Mathieu Lachance added: “We’ll see many games launching with large errors and bugs. It’s impossible to release a flawless game.

Everyone makes mistakes just some bigger than others. For example Mario maker has a invincibility glitch currently. Which needs to be patched. No game dev is flawless but they do hold better track records. Platinum had to patch bayonetta on PS3 to hell and back to get it in a decent state.

Soooo.... looks like it wasn't AC: Syndicate, Uncharted Collection, or Need for Speed.

Shall we resume the betting?

It's gonna be Battlefront.

While it could be battlefront I don't know. Beta worked well and the game really isn't doing too much that's ambitious. Aside from server issues I don't suspect there will be huge technical issues

Honestly I'm surprised Rainbow Six and WWE aren't higher. But then again, I can see Fallout having some bugs. I don't know about it being "broken" though.

I can't believe this is a thing.

Imagine sitting down in the cinema to watch The Force Awakens on launch day only to find that there was a glitch where Jar Jar's head was on Kylo Ren's body and then the movie froze and was unwatchable for the last ten minutes.

Not acceptable. I know coding videogames is a lot more complex and finding bugs even more so but it still shouldn't be a thing.

Oh, well that's good to know. I was going on track record :lol

Yeah, most of the conplaonts from the leakers are about systems and not freezes or mission bugs, so that's something. I'm sure it's YMMV since it's such an open game but we will see!

Rainbow Six. The matchmaking was a dumpster fire during the beta. I was constantly left searching for games or being placed in 5v2 games where the two players would leave immediately thus ending the game. It turned into quite the vicious cycle for me.

Battlefronts beta was goddam flawless though, never had any lag issues or any drops or any problems finding a match. They were using alien technology for that beta test, but will probably go back to human stuff when th game releases.

I can't wait for it!

Wasn't it already determined that they were talking about THPS5? Sounds like a lot of people are placing their bets on RS3 and I have no idea about that game but I don't think any of the highest voted games will have problems.

Need for Speed didn't seem to be a complete mess in the sense that it's broken, just that it may not be very fun or a return to roots like they seemed to be pushing.

To be fair, having a father whose worked in various QA environments, QA is pretty universally disrespected, not just in games.

Turns out people don't like be told they're doing something wrong.
Even if it's really important.

Fallout and Battlefront are easily going to take this...difference is I wont be annoyed when Fallout 4 bugs out.

Syndicate wasn't broken or super bugged like some website suggested.
Crossing fingers for Fallout 4....I hope there aren't bugs that prevent story progression..

Maybe it was Battlefront, since many reported issues with the alpha(and the comments here) but since then DICE cleaned it up. At least the beta ran very smoothly, with a few bugs here and there. So maybe there wont be a huge bug riddled release.

Otherwise. the only one I can really think of is R6. I didnt have much issue with my limited beta play time. But many other did.

I thought AC was pretty damn buggy, at least the early copies were. Did the Day 1 patch make the game passable?

Please stop telling other people how to spend their money, folks

It's less about them "telling other people how to spend their money" and more about them "telling other people to stop influencing companies' expectations for their products to those products' detriment."
