Gears Of War did do pretty well.
ExciteTruck sold 32k on its 1st day, and didn't even chart.

And, that also means good sales for Etrian Odyssey. Awesome.
It seems like they were very much off with ET this week, the latest information is that it did only 20k for the first week, Gears of War might be about 28-35k, I'd say.

European charts ? we only have UK chart, and Europe is not only UK ;)
What? We don't get an overall chart for Europe, no, but from time to time we do get from UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and more I might have forgotten right now. Certainly not UK only.

anyway, i don't like UK charts too, especially cause they don't separate multiplatform games

coming back to MC chart: ok, GoW is in the top10, so? Without any numbers anyone can say "wow, i'm surprised!!!"
what if it has been sold 30k ? are they high sales ? 360 games don't have long legs, look at DoAX2 which had a good start (45k), but it just sold 23k since middle december. Blue Dragon sold 80k at launch, and in the next 3 weeks it sold around 10k each week, and we are talking about the weeks with highest sales in the year...

even if GoW would sell 40k in the first week, it's hard it will break 100k mark IMO
THESE ARE NOT MC NUMBERS. They are Famitsu numbers.

WAIT untill tonight.

FFS already people. Oh well, the warnings out. Now to sit back and watch the the mother ****er burn when the MC numbers are different from these.

Ahh ok, didn't catch anything about that.
But still, decent sales.

Gears of War being so high might mean that Xbox 360 hw sales > PS3 hw sales in Japan... Wouldn't that be pretty crazy? :lol :lol
It would take another drop in PS3 sales and one heck of a spike in 360 sales to do it. Would be one of the signs if it ever happens, though.

Yes, it would be crazy. It'd be even crazier if GAF all of a sudden became full of people who knew what they were talking about.

Well, last week PS3 sales were 25k, and nothing special has come out so I'd imagine they are about the same this week, maybe even lower? Who knows.

Ok, I'm calling it:

PS3 22k
Xbox 360 23k

And the thread goes kabooooom! (if true) :lol :lol

But yeah, I admit I might be ridiculously wrong with PS3 sales. :)

I really hope DQMJ will be able to drift past 1 million.

Edit: Also, I think peoples' DS predictions are way off. They're just getting out of the Christmas boost weeks, and they're not used to consoles remaining at 100k after the boost wears off, while DS has been managing that for a while.

I'd say that the DS will consistently do >100k unless something REALLY bad happens with their ability to ship DSes.

i dont think thats a bad bet.. i heard GoW advertising wasnt that huge.. probably just benefited from already installed users who, one would assume, are actually into games such as Gears

The extra demand in Europe and North America isn't THAT bad a thing.

? The demand in NA isn't going to eat into JP's shipment.
Well, it will, but Japan will still get more than 100,000 once it's sorted. Because of stockpiling for Crimbo, the world was effectively getting between 1.5 and 2 million per month. Now, they're gonna be getting about 2.5 million a month.

I say 200k a month for stockpiling overall, so 2.3 million for world a month. 3/10 for Japan, so they should be having an average of 160,000 per week in Japan, although it'll be less than the average most weeks because of extra stockpiling for game launches / price drop.

Didn't F1 for the PS3 launch in Japan this week? It seem to me that hw sales are a lot more closely linked to sw in Japan than in NA, so I would expect a bump in sales as FI fans pick up a PS3 for the game.

PS3 65k
Wii 90K
X360 22K

Three RPGs outselling Gears of War, good.

Might want to check your counting skills. There seem to be four RPGs selling more than Gears.
