Media Create Sales: Week 50, 2012 (Dec 10 - Dec 16)

Honestly the MH4 delay should help Soul Sacrifice a bit, at least now it's not releasing in a month with two massive 3DS games taking all the attention.

Also, marketing hasn't ramped up yet, so I don't think the game's awareness is that high. Pre-orders should pick up a bit in the coming months.

Obviously the game won't set the charts on fire but it could do decently at least. By that I mean 200k LTD.

Amazon: #11
Comgnet: 97pt

I think it's going to do well. (Fantasy Life)

Anyway, Amazon watch!
(ignore if you don't care)

One Piece 2
PS3 #04
PSV #51

Dead or Alive 5
PSV #15 (Collector's Edition) #253 (Standard)

Soul Sacrifice
#63 (Standard) #146 (Double)

Did it reach #1? Shouldn't SS be charting higher? They just released a demo and from what I have seen Sony is holding quite a few Nico Nico presentations. It will be interesting from now on!

What shocks me is that DoA is so much higher than SS despite releasing later. Its probably nothing though.

How often does the Top 100 Amazon charts update?
Every hour, I guess.

Amazon rankings aren't an indication of anything except how far the conversation has descended in a sales thread.
I disagree to some degree, and we don't discuss Amazon ranks every day, let's not overreact, please.

DOA preorder opened today.

I'm more interested to see how Animal Crossing is selling, it really destroyed my expectations XD

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Noooo, metaslimer banned too, he's a nice guy ._.

Being more IT: Yes, there are many possible interesting things to see this week, between Wii U's third week ( and its software), Animal Crossing, Fist of the North Star, AKB...there's certainly to talk about.

looking forward to some very huge numbers in a few hours!
and some small ones

I'm expecting something like this:

Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 350,000 (or even more if Nintendo shipped enough units)
3DS - 450,000

And lots of titles over 100,000 units: One Piece: Romance Dawn - Bouken no Yoake, Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2, AKB1/149: Love Election, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, New Super Mario Bros. U, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Taiko no Tatsujin Wii: Super Deluxe Edition.

It's surprising that Taiko no Tatsujin Wii: Super Deluxe Edition will already be over 300,000 units. It should easily outsell Taiko no Tatsujin Wii 2.

Taiko no Tatsujin on Wii:

[WII] Taiko no Tatsujin Wii (Namco Bandai Games) {2008.12.11} - 657,666
[WII] Taiko no Tatsujin Wii 2 (Namco Bandai Games) - {2009.11.19} - 418,284
[WII] Taiko no Tatsujin Wii 3 generations of party together! (Namco Bandai Games) {2010.12.02} - 270,672
[WII] Taiko Drum Master Wii: Definitive Edition! (Namco Bandai Games) - {2011.11.23} - 295,745
[WII] Taiko no Tatsujin Wii: Super Deluxe Edition (Namco Bandai Games) - {2012.11.29} - 203,426

It's because of the WiiU controller's region lock thread. It's not perma, I think, although a mod there promised there will be a new tag waiting for him and all the persons banned there when they get back IIRC, hahaha.

Oh man, what happened there if I may ask ?

Three things (broad overgeneralizations following):

-Mass ban of Nintendo folks saying things like " who cares"

- another round of " stupid anti-consumer decision"

- those figuring it out its a firmware-issue being ignored

you guys probably talked about it, but when can we expect the new numbers for last week?

You mean Week 51? Today in 3-4 hours.

This is typically one of the biggest, or the biggest week in the normal Japanese year isnt it? Or is there a bigger week around Easter?

We already know the Vita is going to do a pitiful number.

Far more interesting is how well the Wii U does. I'm interested in what people think a respectable number for it is? >100k? >200k?

A drop from last week would not be respectable.

At least it should sell over 150,000 units, better around 200,000.

Wii 2006: 108,237 -> 279,277

I don't think Wii U can hit 200k. We will see.

I picked up a download card of Layton vs AA yesterday. Plus one for Week 52 on Famitsu's charts!

Really looking forward to seeing WiiU's performance tonight... judging my the stores in my area, I will guess it's doing quite good (not always sold out, but it does get sold out).

"respectable"? To me this means >150k. But the goal is probably >200k. But if the trend confirms the slighty less numbers compared to the Wii this should be more or less 250k.

How will this week Top 10 fare against other years?

Imo no way 3DS is going to replicate last year's crazy numbers, as MK7+SM3DLand+MH3G>AC+NSMB2+random title.

BTW, if we look at overall hardware sales instead of software sales, Wii U selling better than Vita last year so far could balance 3DS selling slightly worse.

Why would SS be somehow the most preordered game? Its a new game with no marketing as of yet. If there was hype about the game we'd already be seeing that in Vita sales.

Let's see what the marketing is like over the next three months.
That is what will decide its success.
