Media Create Sales: Week 50, 2012 (Dec 10 - Dec 16)

Vita selling tragically bad in december is a given - what will be interesting is sales in February/March when it actually has proper release schedule without few weeks game droughts like it had this year.

We already know the Vita is going to do a pitiful number.

Far more interesting is how well the Wii U does. I'm interested in what people think a respectable number for it is? >100k? >200k?

I don't know how much it sold, but I know how the discussion will be:

<200k: "bu bu bu it's sold-out" vs. "Nintendo is doomed"
>200k: "Nintendo you're so amazing pls have my babies" vs "bu bu bu only NSMBU/MH3U/NL are selling"

Whatever happens were just getting measurements of the size of Pacman's tongue.

Sir, that's last week XD

MC/Fam having different ranks can be confusing lol

Setting aside Vita and Wii U, what would be "good" numbers for the other platforms?
Why would SS be somehow the most preordered game? Its a new game with no marketing as of yet. If there was hype about the game we'd already be seeing that in Vita sales.

Let's see what the marketing is like over the next three months.
That is what will decide its success.
Success is relative I suppose, but come March the Vita will likely still only have an installed base of ~1.2M. (If even that)

It would need a relatively high attach rate to even reach 200K.

I read people claiming Vita has a bright first half of 2013.

With soul sacrifice delayed, what is it there for Vita in Q1 that could realistically help sell the hardware in Japan?

(the answer to that is probably to be found several times somewhere in GAF threads but I fail to find the exact software people are talking about)

EDIT: damn, somehow I thought the delay was past Q1, I stand corrected... but that's one game, if people think Q1/2 look good for Vita, that can't be the only reason.

The PS3 version could kill the vita one.

Yeah, easily, unless Sony slashes Vit'as price by then; in that case Jump superstar may perform decently on Vita, as I gather it's a game that should sell well on handhelds - perhaps because of local multi-player -, seeing how previous iteration on NDS turned out to be a big seller.

Wii U matches very favorably to Wii's first three weeks, though not the bump for equivalent calendar week.

Definitely not pulling a Vita, though.
