If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Maybe the G version model of releases is starting to tire people out? 4G didn't do particularly amazing either.
Yeah i would assume that the case...especially since MHX was already somewhat of a spin of the forth generation games. At this point the fanbase probably is ready for the next big jump.

This is where a potential Switch release would make sense, the more core oriented users would likely jump on a superior MHXX HD Switch version while waiting for MH5.

Same for the western market....

Didn't they originally suggest X wouldn't see a re-release?

That probably hasn't helped.

Dream Drop Distance proved better value than main entries?

Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 ReMIX <Kingdom Hearts \ Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories>
Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX <Kingdom Hearts II \ Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ \ Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep>
Kingdom Hearts HD II.8: Final Chapter Prologue <Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD \ Kingdom Hearts χ: Back Cover \ Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage>
That's what I meant, they saw good value at this collection despite not including main entries, leaving price the same.
Because of 0.2

No idea, really. In January we should see a better performance even though Switch version wasn't possible. But, with Nintendo helding the event, after 13th is when pre-orders should move towards one direction or another.
Can't it be simply because some of the older fans feel tricked there as Capcom mentioned first that there won't be any G version and boom they got G version?

I do can see if Switch version is also coming out, it will be a good launch title there.^^

Can the Xbox One S crack 5 million units next year? Is such a thing even possible? Yes it is.

Maybe the G version model of releases is starting to tire people out? 4G didn't do particularly amazing either.
Could be a good idea to make the G version of MH5 a series of paid DLC, with a season pass or two. I know the MH team said they didn't want to do paid DLC, and free DLC could still be applicable for Low Rank and High Rank. But it might help bring back the legs of the franchise, and they could then space out the mainline releases to alleviate any Level 5-like franchise crashes.

well, at least they don't give up despite the horrible results

something that I noticed is both One S and PS4 Pro are selling less than the older models, especially PS4 Pro has a terrible tie-ratio
probably 10 years of PS2 graphic engines (PS2,PSP,Wii) made the japanese audience less graphic whore than the western one
a 500k lifetime installbase would be a great result for xbox one in japan considering the circumstances

but even a xbox one s mincecraft bundle and scorpio this year are no probably not enough
to hit that.

funny, that japan is not even xbox biggest asian market, lol

Dengeki finally has the last week of the year.

31.842.742 units of retail software sold a 13% drop from last year.

Breaking it further we have

3DS: 14.718.727, 46% of total software sales with a 20% decline from last year.
PS4: 8.505.337, 27% of total software sales with a 72% increase from last year (more than half of the total PS4 software sales come from 2016)
PSV: 4.869.212, 15% of software sales with a 7% drop from last year.
WIU: 2.084.050, 7% of software sales with a 44% drop from last year.
PS3: 1.621.060, 5% of software sales with a 62% drop from last year.
XB1: 44.356, 0.14% of software sales with a 46% drop from last year.

Milestones crossed this year include 3DS selling over 100 million units, PS4 surpassing both 10m and 15m units and PSV surpassing 20m units.

Final Fantasy XV sales update now list it at 6 million sold digital+physical.

So yeh, not a lot of unsold copies here, aside from in Japan, maybe.
If they manage to sell 6 million where 5 million are the PS4 numbers I think everyone involved should be pretty pleased with the performance of FF. Still expecting that PC Port to do pretty well since I think that's where the majority of the untapped RPG market is at outside of Japan.

Dengeki is in line with Media Create. If Famitsu overtracked 3DS hw and sw tomorrow will be another week of big differences.

Even though Extreme Vs. Force kinda underperformed, it still sold better as the big December release for Vita.
Massively overshipped games selling at bomba prices are big underperformers with plasmatic LTDs.

Maybe it's getting expanded into a card battle mobile game for China!
Hmm everybody will be really wanting the generic vin diesel lookalike character card.

Devil's Third Multiplayer is actually really good. :(

I remember that, too. Something about 'whole new world'. Now I'm thinking he meant the Disney song.
Maybe it's the new "I don't want to miss a thing" for him?

Hopefully today we can see it passing 900K... then begin the slow countdown to the 1M.
I'd think that might be possible.

I saw at some time someone give a ranking of sales levels per week, like week 50>52>51>2>1 or something. Could someone tell me what the right ordering for those weeks generally would be?

In 2011 (same days calendar year) it was:
51>50>1>49>52>48

Still, this year week 52 was weaker than 48, so Week 1 might be weaker than 49 this year.

Week 2 is always a huge drop week. Today numbers are the last holiday week.

Nice, I thought they'd skip that altogether.

Any puzzles for this week?
No puzzles, he speculates about the switch, but these are not leaks.

I see, thanks. FFXV going over 900K this week should be more than possible if this holds true for this year.

So vita had the smallest drop yoy in year with no new hardware or big games. I expect it to fall hard this year though.
