Meet The Sandwich Nazi

This is a short documentary by Lewis Bennett about the La Charcuterie sandwich shop located in Surrey, British Colombia and its maniac proprietor Salam Kahil.

This documentary is NSFW (Male Nudity). He's chatty, and muses on his time as a male escort. He's got a wicked sense of humor and a heart of gold. He makes sandwiches for the homeless of Vancouver (the Hastings area). I was in Vancouver this past weekend and it sucks that I'm just learning about his shop now. When I head up there again, this place is destination number 1.

A few rules:

1) Always say please.

2) Under no circumstances are cell-phones or smart phones use allowed within the premises.

This guy is a fucking trip.

EDIT: I take it back, this guy is hysterical. Dying laughing at the crack about getting kicked out of Lebanon for not flying planes into buildings.

This is good... I really love Vimeo. Such great content.

Wow he really likes talking about blowjobs.

This guy is so charismatic he almost had me believing it was perfectly acceptable to have a store room in your restaurant with a floor caked in cum.

lol that was very entertaining. guy is hilarious but after i saw the bj room with dried up cum on the floor i doubt i would eat there even though those sammiches looked epic.

"pubic hair like s.o.s. pad" lol

At the end he says Vancouver is the worst place in the world. My question is: Is Canada really that desperate/hopeless/dreary like the video says?

Not sure if you're being serious but overall not at all. The place he's talking about, (east hastings) is known for being a shithole with a huge homeless problem.

When I was up there, I did spend some time in east Hastings (ate at Meat & Bread, great food). I felt a bit uncomfortable, especially as we drove past the outdoor "market"; its essentially a flea market for the homeless to sell shit they've stolen or pickpocketed. But yeah Vancouver is actually a really awesome place. I'd actually give it the edge over my native Seattle.

I shudder at the health issues/violations at that place. I'm pretty sure a number of his customers probably have caught herpes, hpv and god knows what from this guy. He doesn't even use gloves when cutting the meat.

He's quite charming though, I would hang out with him.

Fantastic little video. I definitely would not want to eat there for obvious health and hygiene reasons, but that guy is hilarious and awesome.

I don't get the candle thing. Couldn't you just poop it out? It didn't look that huge. Anyway wouldn't eat there. The place is gross as fuck. Funny guy tho.

shows ruin people.

But this guy is awesome, everything about him lol.
His shop is a lil sketchy when it comes to sanitation from whats shown in the video.

But being there in first person id probably grab something to eat.
Dosent seem like the kind of guy to intentionally harm you.

That sandwich shop is amazing. I used to get a sandwich there every couple of weeks when I worked in the area.

One of those sandwiches could feed me for like 2-3 days. SO MUCH FOOD.

I've met the Seinfeld soup nazi when he was opening his pizza joint at the whistler base. Delicious pizza. This place I could get to in about 20 minutes but his shenanigans don't seem worth the food poisoning that would come with it.
