Mega Man ZX Advent impressions

That's not ironic either. All the MM games this gen has sucked major ass across both platforms he's in. I'd say it's even worse than the PS2 Megaman games just due to the number of barely playable to outright bad games compared the PS2's shit-on-a-disc travesties.

The real shining moment for the series lately has been the Zero games and quite frankly, with the way things are right now, I doubt Capcom will ever surpass them. And anyone who disagrees should hang up their coats and give up modern gaming now since it's just pure nostalgia talking.

PS: MHX is even more shit than ZX since it's an exact remake with questionable 3d, shitty voice acting, crappy cutscenes and gimped difficulty.

Shit-on-a-disc travesties? Megaman X8 was downright awesome, one of the best Megaman games I have ever played. Even Command Mission was passable. Only X7 stinks. As for MHX, not many people would agree with that - or critics for that matter. It was one of the highest rated Megaman games in recent memory after all. Of course in the end though, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Well, let's go down the list.

There were two real PS2 Mega Man games.

Only one was a piece of shit. X7. X8, however, is one of the best in the series, and honestly, if not for the two X7-quality racing stages, might be my favorite. It's damn good. The music rules too, btw.

MHX and Powered Up, especially Powered Up, are two of the best remakes ever. And you're in a huge minority when it comes to thinking MHX is shit.

And while you can argue the quality of ZX and ZXA against other titles in the series, they are still good games in their own right.

omg rite is right, X8 was damn good. They essentially cut the crap and gave a game at least on par with X3, in my humble opinion.

Yeah, X8 was awesome aside from the 2 vehicle chase levels. It cut the crap, went straight back to the basics while expanding upon the mechanics with interchangeable armor pieces, a robust and badass move set for Zero, and Axel was actually fun to play as. Dual team attacks were overpowered, but aside from that everything about X8 was great. I must has replayed the kickass Elevator sequence like 50 times by now.

I take it this thread acts as the official ZX:A thread?

I got it for Christmas so at least I didn't pay for it. ~_~; Started it up the other day and I guess I'm halfway through since I got half the transformations. The voice acting is terrible! ZX's voice acting annoyed me but what we got here is a zillion times worse! Another bad thing is the color or lack of it. People and stages all look so bland compared to ZX's style. The story so far (Ashe's side) is generic barf-awful stuff much like ZX's was so no improvement there.

On the plus side the music is better and more memorable. You can fight in human mode to which is nice. Plus Model A is all about classic MM-style shooting action. No dumb zero sword close combat stuff!

I liked ZX enough to end up playing through it a few times but this.. maybe if I'm really bored someday I'll play through Grey's story.

Or even better, just make a Zero fcking FIVE!

Eight new bosses, 15 new stages, have Weil somehow resurrect himself, another gimmick weapon, ranking system and we'll be happy. But no~~~~~~~~~~~~...

Dont fuck up the Zero games dammit...let them rest in piece

Best MM decision ever was to not whore it out

I liked ZX enough and ZXA was decent too.

But what I really want is a new Mega Man game that is about Mega Man. Not some "Mega Men" or Zero or any of that. Give me Rock or X any day.

Okay, just got done finishing up.

Who's brilliant idea was it to make the game pause and change you back to Model A when talking to people, entering areas for the first time, and of course right before a boss battle. So freaking annoying!! Its the game makers basically saying "PLAY ONLY AS MODEL A". >_<;

Story was bad right up to and through the end. Pretty predictable stuff. What was up with
Vent's hair?
So ugly! btw That spike hell in the last level was infuriating!

If/when there's another ZX game I hope it moves onto a fresher storyline unrelated to biometal and mega men and model w crap! Oh and is a GOOD game to.

I just bought Mega Man ZX and ZX advent the other day and I'm really not feeling them at all.

:(

I just want a new Mega Man X.

Zero series is your best bet. IMO best mega man series (in terms of consistency) up there with legends.

I'm a pretty big old school Mega Man fan, so difficulty isn't really an issue for me. But sometimes these games are too difficult for their own good. Plus, some of the quests/missions are abstract and irritating. I played through both, but I didn't enjoy them as much as I wanted.

I bought it a few months ago, played through a few levels, and then called it quits. Wasn't ever really sure where I was supposed to go, the aimless exploration wasn't fun, and map system wasn't much help.

At least we got Mega Man 9. Now that they're on the whole 'retro updates' spree they could totally make an X9. In 2D. So it doesn't suck. Please.

This is SO wrong.

ZXA>>>>>>>>>ZX

And just because of the better map.

Really, skip ZX, play ZX Advent, you won't regret it.

For me the awful mandatory form switching in ZXA outweighed the awful map in ZX, but both were pretty atrocious.
