Ooof. $20-25 I could understand, since it has to compensate for increased production and material costs, but at this point, why not just save some cash and by the game itself?
Didn't the game itself kind of under-perform in Japan (and maybe Europe?)
At $40 for the mega - within the range of game pricing - and whatever price for the smaller ones (aren't they slightly more expensive than the regular Amiibos?), it'd be ironic if the Amiibos ended up generating more revenue than the actual game to which they're tied.
That being said, I fully plan on getting at least one of the small ones, even buying the damn bundle if that's the only way. You've won, Nintendo.

Nope. The smaller ones in sitting pose are cuter.
It functions as a amiibo, but it can easily be look at as a plush too, through probably more collectible rather than playable.
It is also an amiibo (same as the little ones).

Yeah, agreed. The combination of the standing pose + keeping the blank expression is just kinda meh IMO and ruins it for me. Would probably look better if they at least had Yoshi trying to crack a smile or something IMO, but this isn't doing it for me
A mega version of that classic mario would have been kind of awesome lol.

Did the normal size ones ever go up for pre-order in the US? I've been waiting for those, but I haven't really seen a ton about it over here...I hope I didn't miss it.

I am guessing same day as Yoshi's Wooly World. Amiibo come out 9/11, so they are waiting until Monday to make it official (I am guessing).
Bundle with the green one went up on gamestop.com today (chibi robo amiibo bundle up too).

Just got the GS order. So I got all ordered but Pink, ha ha.
I can't decide if I want to go for this larger one or just get the bundle that includes the Yoshi game and the smaller Amiibo. Honestly I'm not that interested in the game but I could be in time.
I did preorder the Chibi Robo bundle though as that's the only way I'm likely to get that bundle and it looks like it could be fun with the different ways you can use the plug.

There's a certain hilarity to buying a $40 large plush Amiibo I can get behind. At the same time I really wanted Pink since I have a regular Smash one already
