Menu music so awesome it makes not want to play the game

When I have new people over I always show them BC Rearmed menu and turn th 5.1 bass up to max, when that bassline kicks in hairs raise.

Not a really good example because the game was amazing, But Metroid Prime's first menu music and screen left me wondering for a couple of minutes, I wish there was a high-res screensaver for that.

Also SotC with its beautiful piece...

Don't have a link but Everyday Shooter's menu music.... I've left that game open just to listen to the menu 15 second acoustic loop over and over. One game I'd definitely nominate for this.

Heh, glad someone else likes it.

It's the only thing I thought of on reading the thread title.

I love the main title/menu music in Mass Effect.

Vigil is one of my all time favorite tracks so I could just listen to it instead of playing.

Im gonna go with GT5:Prologue. I would just let the stay game stay on the menu screen and let the music play while i did something else lol

Oh yeah, I forgot the best menu music of them all.

Old Snake in the MGS4 menu is awesome, especially with the title screen image. Epic yet tragic, perfect fit.

This is slightly unrelated, but you know, the SSB64 music (the very quiet one) really sounds like something that has a hidden aspect to it, like how if you speed up the Gamecube menu music, it's really the Famicom Disc System start-up theme. I wonder if you put those little high note samples end to end, if it'd sound like that too. Probably not, but just a suspicion.
Oh my god. I never knew this. My mind is blown.

Ok, the Metroids and Yoshi's Island have been mentioned. But these haven't!

Journey to Silius (NES) All the music in this game is great. Sunsoft had some magic voodoo going on with their NES music.

Batman (NES) Short and sweet. Sunsoft again.

Solstice (NES) By Tim Follin. Strange at first, but gets really good.

Spider-Man and X-Men in Arcade's Revenge (SNES) Tim Follin again. His SNES music was extraordinary all over, and this is probably the coolest menu music.

Secret of Mana (SNES). Hiroki Kikuta. So good... what happened to this guy anyway? He never came close to this level again.

Super Castlevania IV (SNES) From ca. 1.10 in that clip. This is so amazingly eerie, chilling and beautiful, and my favourite Castlevania tune ever. And the best thing is that it appears again in a slightly faster form at the end of the game
when you walk up the last stairs to meet Dracula...
and then it fucking transforms into Simon's Theme halfway into the battle and sends the chills down your spine into overdrive!
Who is the composer, by the way?

One more for this. I'd just sit around and improvise on the title screen more than I'd play the actual game. :D
