well that joysti q story was referencing something on the 1up show. someone told a journalist the wrong thing, and it got quoted all over the place. we know that's not the case now, but it is still something that someone at bethesda told someone at 1up.methane47 said:Since it would take far too long to find a specific post regarding what I'm talking about.. I'll turn to The prime internet offering for PS3 Hate... Joystuq.com
And this is just part of what I see.. It's been alot worse.

I mean you're quoting banned sites for crying out loud.
fixed. honestly, drop in drop out co op is what it's all about these days.Safe Bet said:Stay on topic people....

Online drop in drop out Co-Op
Go!
Mrbob said:Interesting to see that the X360 and PS3 version will be similar (no tilt support?), with X360 getting achievements added on. With the extreme ease of use of setting up an online game on X360, I just leaned towards getting the 360 version now.
..campaign-based, drop in drop out, online co-op is the shit these days.plagiarize said:fixed. honestly, drop in drop out co op is what it's all about these days.
What the hell is wrong with achievements?travisbickle said:I'd rather shave my privates, coat them in honey and stick 'em in a bees nest then aspire to gain achievements, but aren't Sony going to copy that off Msoft?

co-op has always been awesome, but this has been the next step that the mode needed to take for so long. it kind of makes co-op and single player feel almost like one mode. heck, i haven't and probably won't ever play Gears single player, but i've finished it about three times playing it co-op.Safe Bet said:..campaign-based, drop in drop out, online co-op is the shit these days.
Being able to play through the "story" of the game with other people is awesome...

mmlemay said:With drop-in, drop-out co-op with the live interface and achievements, the X360 version wins for me, but I would've gotten the PS3 version if it had remained exclusive.
methane47 said:So... The PS3 version doesn't have Drop-in drop-out co-op? and no online co-op either?
Or are you saying those are the reasons you're getting it for the 360?
But if the PS3 version has all of those then you're only gettnig the 360 version because of the achievements?
So the game holds no interest to you other than achievements? Or is your hate for the PS3 really that great?

yeah. espescially recognising the level of destructability of environments that the game is promising. you can't see that in screenshots.JB1981 said:I just want to see the game in motion, at this point. A lot of next-gen games seem to look bad in stills and then you see them in motion, and everything changes.

I totally agree...plagiarize said:i haven't and probably won't ever play Gears single player, but i've finished it about three times playing it co-op.
its great that i don't have to worry about missing parts of the story or the experience anymore.
whichever is the case for Mercs 2, i know that it's the feature that makes me go 'oooh, okay i've got to get this'.
mmlemay said:Wow. Hate? Seriously?
I'm getting it for 360 because the feature sets are the same (aside from achievements, which I do love) AND because the Live interface is superior and I'll have more friends to play Co-op with.
Even if the PS3 had a good online interface by the fall and I had tons of friends to play with, I'd STILL get the 360 version because achievements are just fun to get. Of course, that's assuming that both versions look and play the same, which they likely will.
I was saying at the end that I really want to play the game so even if it had not been announced for the 360, I'd be all over the PS3 version.

Now take a second look at these screens (with in mind that the environments are destructible).... Thank you

Haha you're being ridiculous. Get a hold of reality please.meltpotato said:the "descructible" environments theyve shown so far were an absolute joke. it was like twisted metal on psx levels, just with ps3/360 assets.
