Good, looked like shit and doesn't deserve the name "Metal Gear".
Thank god Konami saved us from being able to judge it ourselves.

I fully understand whenever a fan project gets canned by the powers that be. There are so many legal pressures for a company to protect your copyright, and your brand.
Honestly, the efforts of most fanboys should be channeled into making an original IP that they control. You can base it on the properties you love, and wear your influence on your sleeve... but the need to be "part of the canon" is a self-defeating nerd desire that works against all your hard work.
Instead of making a remake of Metal Gear 1, why not make a totally new game inspired by Metal Gear 1?
Konami haven't done anything shady here at all - they've protected their IP, which they are obliged to do. The fan remakers are the ones doing something "shady", by any legal definition. I'm all for fan projects, but I'm also aware that they are totally illegal.
During the Gamescom interview he said that he isn't a big fan of remakes, but if he had to remake a game it would be Metal Gear Solid.

:lol Damn, bruh.
so you actually saw alot more of it than the trailer?
Yeah, Metal Gear Solid is more like a remake of Metal Gear 2.

The overlap between MGS and SH fans is substantial (especially now, since a huge number of MGS fans are going to buy Silent Hills because of Kojima's involvement) and they're both made by the same company. When any company does something shady in one area, it casts doubt on their whole operation. Anyways, I'm just pointing out that Konami seems to have a pattern of creating a lot of hype and/or good-will and then deflating it with asinine business decisions. It's not a problem I've noticed with other companies which usually maintain a more consistent reputation for better or worse.
You're assuming that there's more to see of the game which in all likelihood isn't the case.so you actually saw alot more of it than the trailer?
ice fucking cold!
I'ma gonna risk it and assume the dude's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of a Kojima fanboy.
That or he's mad jelly he don't got the skills to make an MG remake.
...and didn't Konami themselves or was that Kojima, that were OK with the fan remake?
Was nice to hear the real Snake again in the trailer.![]()

Right?!
Sn4ke_911 is a cool dude, man! He's free to feel that it looks like hot garbage. I, on the other hand, would have been willing to at least give it a shot. A 3D version of the original Metal Gear is something I would love to play... But no worries, either way, since we will get our MG and MG2:SS remakesBesides, if I were to call anyone else "waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of a Kojima fanboy," I would just be throwing stones at glass houses!at the end of MGS5! (BELIEVE.)
And yes! Fan-made Metal Gear remake approved by Konami
“I should have probably mentioned that Hayter was helping with the script too, along with that we had other industry professionals on the team as well:
- Adhem Belkhadra from Ubisoft (Gears of War, Just Dance, the Cursed Crusade, etc.) working on the level mapping.
- Kaue Lemos from Insane Games (Earth Under Seige, Bubble Up, etc.) working on the sound effects.
- Orion Acaba (Fire Emblem, Infamous series, etc.) working on the voice acting.
- Paul Eiding (Roy Campbell) was also on board in a cameo.
Besides that we had a guy from Sony’s XDev team working with us but left due to availability and we had interested from ATV/Sony Music Publishing who wanted to provide the games soundtrack.”
People still have sour grapes about this? Do you still complain about Michael Keaton not being Batman anymore?
hardly and equal comparison.People still have sour grapes about this? Do you still complain about Michael Keaton not being Batman anymore?
That guy was really desperate to voice Snake again. I guess he'll whine even more on twitter.
Game was still in its early stages, we can never know if it would be crap or not til it's been played.
...and thanks for the link, heck it even had its own thread here on GAF! MG company be flip flopping, someone tweet Kojima so he can get it back on track.

Yeah, Michael Keaton was still good at his job when they switched actors.
they approved months ago and now they changed their minds? official metal gear remake confirmed then.
sigh this is the last time i get hyped over a fan game
And ye it's dead, it's been in the air for a few months we just couldn't speak publicly about it as we didn't wanna upset Konami. Just had the call a couple of hours ago that we can't go ahead, basically they couldn't all agree on the project with some in favour and others against it, said that probably too many people at Konami knew about it and cause they couldn't make a decision they just shut it down.
With that said, I've been invited to Konami to meet the team, also said that if we have any other idea's for other games he'd love to help us out as much as he can an hopefully put it Konami (to publish it - I'm guessing?).
That had already been put forward from Konami UK, Japan just wouldn't bite.
How's that official Chrono Trigger remake coming along?
