Metal Gear Rising 2 - Your wishlist.

Bigger budget: Allow Platinum to put more hours and people in the project. It was a bit annoying how the first game sort of stopped progressing after chapter four, and you'd get entire chapters that consisted more or less only of boss fights etc. for the rest of the game.

Drop the frantic analogue-waggle mechanic: For some reason P* loves this, it's the most annoying thing ever.

More attacks in Zandatsu besides just vertical and horizontal slice.

I'm talking stabs, skewers, leg sweeps, and knees to the face.

Also more rules of nature.

Level design in rising was pretty boring, seemed like a never ending loop of grey and brown buildings, I'd love to see more colorful and varied locales in rising 2

-Current-gen only
-Fox Engine
-Polishness
-Fix the camera
-New enemies(but that's a given)
-Switch on the fly for weapons
-Don't sacrifice a button for weapons that are not the default HF blade, still don't get why they did it.
-Ninja wall run
-No stealth
-Christopherson
-Christopherson
-Christopherson
-Sam's return
-Solidus as secret unlockable character/boss a la
Rodin.

But the nanomachines changed his brain and made him russian!!!

BOOOOOOOOOM

Rebuild of Metal Gear Rising 2.0: You Can (Not) Revenge

Raiden needs a robo-raptor mount. It's the only way the game can be more metal than it already is.

Also, for the final boss fight, he fights all of fucking Congress. Policitians wall-running, flying, crashing through walls, etc.

Raiden: "I move we impose some serious term limits. All in favor...

...say die"

More of the same and get a proper development time.
Maybe a little more depth into the combat aspect, more exploration and being longer.
It would be awesome if they do it with the fox engine.

  1. A mid-combo weapon switching
  2. They should use the Fox engine for the thier next game
  3. Stealth mechanics in MGR:R was really bad... and it needs to be improved somehow. For example: they could add "Stealth" as a distinct style where the game changes from hack 'n' slash to MGS-like stealth gameplay (In DMC4, you have five different styles, and you can switch between these styles with the D-pad. MGR2 needs to have something like that)
  4. Many people will disagree with me on this.... but I want more VR missions in the next game. Sorry guys, but I had so much fun with these missions :p
  5. Adding extra modes besides VR missions.. like boss rush or side stories

-Fox Engine
-also more stuff to cut like in the OG rendition
ihhDnP9FOgPcR.gif

-Make it longer
-totally asking for this but I wouldn't say no to some sort of MP even if its just 1vs1.

The camera in MGR could screw you over in more ways than one.

A dedicated button is more precise. It works perfectly fine in DMC and heck even RE6.

Taking parry off of the light attack button also creates an (in my opinion) unnecessary thumb movement since I have to take my thumb off of the attack button in order to do something defensive. With the current set up i can parry without taking my thumb off of a primary attack button. On paper this sounds like a really minor thing but it makes a big difference in my opinion, especially when parries in MGR can basically interrupt any combo you're doing and in the harder modes you need to be lightning quick with them.

That's really a non issue imo since Raiden is in the midst of attack animations anyway.

Just like it's a non issue to use Defensive Offense while attacking.

Seamless weapon switching

Color customization

Wall running

Boss rush mode

Mission mode where you can play with the bosses from the previous game such as Jet Stream Sam, Mistral, and Monsoon.

More weapons.

Better locations. I found MGR's environments to be quite dull for the most part.

Longer/Even more boss battles.

A lot of people will disagree with this, but I would prefer if it had a more serious approach, rather than being extremely cheesy.

Bosses on higher difficulty getting more tricks.

I think MGR had perfect length. Maybe add in an extra mission's worth.

No sewers.

metal gear has always been fairly cheesy though

1. More costumization. Many different skins for Raiden with different small details. Weapon costumization to have visuals to indicate them.

2. Even more VR missions with something like horde-mode on par with RE games.
I'd also like bosses only mode.

3. More realistic decapitations like in MGS: Rising reveal trailer. With real blood everywhere
and some sick phisics like Euphoria to have limbs and bodies seizuring.

4. Even more different locations. Give me MGS4 style with russian winter, european towns, american cities and all kinds of stuff.

5. God make some more of this epic music. the best original vocalized soundtrack in years.

6. More cameos with different characters.

7. Early 2016 release date =)

  • Name: METAL GEAR RISING 2: DEVASTRUCTION. I want royalties for this name as well.
  • Physics added to cut items (weight, mass) - everything fell apart and had the same weight.
  • More ridiculous but amazing music from the same artist.
  • Better integration of secondary firearms and grenades in combat.
  • Parry is perfect the way it is. Don't simplify it to make the game easier.
  • TressFX Raiden's hair - I mean come on. We need a dude to show off this hair tech also. Who better than Raiden?
  • FIX Engine maybe?
  • Better level design (bigger, more diverse).
  • Longer game length and unlockables for replay value.
  • Wall running.
  • Better (but still optional) stealth.

I would be happy with more of the same. But the 3 things I think would be awesome:

- Let me cut and interact with the environment a lot more. I'd like some level design inspired by the original concept of the game where I can, for example, cut the pillars of a structure and make it fall over my enemies.

- Overall higher budget and longer development time. Look at something like bayonetta 2 as a target in terms of lenght and extra content

- Final boss is the president, and to get to him you first have to fight the entire congress or something

Parry/Block would ideally be mapped to a trigger, not a face button.

That was my biggest complaint with the game. Having attack, block, and counter all on the same button was unnecessary hassle.

Take away the parry option select, or generally make the parry window less forgiving. It's kind of ridiculous that you can tap forward and attack repeatedly and be able to attack while automatically parrying anything that happens to come your way.

It's more of block option select since you will rarely get an actual parry without timing.

But yeah, tapping for parry/block seems to be a PG* thing. It's the same in Bayonetta.

1) Better level design. Most of the levels in MGR were horribly plain and boring. Get a decent amount of variety and crazy shit in there please.

2) Jetstream Sam as the co-protagonist. How about a two-pronged narrative like Leon/Claire in Resident Evil 2?

No more walk and talk moments. You are making the penultimate form of action games here for f*ck sake.

Fix the Ninja run; Raiden absolutely freaked out every time I tried running up a stack of boxes or crates in MGRR, maybe make it like Ninja Gaiden, where you can run along and jump between walls in short bursts, just a suggestion.

Make weapon switching much easier, you should be able to map weapons to the d-pad and switch between them on the fly.

A better lock-on and camera. No explanation necessary. A must.

No more wiggle wiggle stun-lock.

Boss fight selection from the main menu after you've beaten them.

No stealth sections, hell take stealth completely out of the game for all I care.

Interesting locations, apart from the boss fights, the game's different areas were quite dull. So no more offices, American intercity locations or army bases please.

And most importantly: KEEP THE QUICK-TIME-EVENTS! They are used perfectly.

Speaking of parry, the timing on Hard mode was WAY too restrictive. And there are two harder modes above it. I could only parry randomly without expecting to. Make it easier to parry next time please.

Also I didn't play the game stealthily at all except when I really wanted to get past certain enemies.

Better parry/block system. Less QTEs. Better looking environments. Less shitty writing and character exposition (that's less as in less of it, not less shitty - I don't think anyone involved with MGS is capable of writing anything worth a damn).

1. Pls fking get rid of the waggle BS and forced walking sections...annoying as hell in a game like this
2. I actually liked the parry system so keep it
3. Better boss battles...outside of 1-2 the other boss battles were pretty lame. So much potential but most of it follows the same routine and were just not interesting..that fight with Sam was infuriating just because it was so damn lame and boring. Sam deserves better damn it!
4. Better more diverse environments. The environments looked so stale and boring in this game. Most of the levels looked so similar and the city segment could have looked so much better.
5. I think a better tutorial system and/or learning curve within the game could be nice. I don't really see any benefit in the discover-it-yourself approach in an action game like this. No need to spill everything however

Overall it was a fun, short game with a lot of issues. Definitely did not meet my expectations..hopefully the sequel will fix that
