There's no point in that. MGS3 online is just a beta test for MGS4 online! They wanted to get people's opinion on the new camera system, online play etc.
 
Anyone know of any good US import with low international shipping rates that'll send this puppy (the limited edition) to Australia? Gamestop wants to slug me US$32 for shipping alone -- fuck that!
 
Ah well. At least Ill get a version of MGS3 that clears up my biggest gripe with the original, the camera. How the static camera worked so flawlessly for MGS1 and 2, but failed so completely for MGS3 is still beyond me.

I don't think that's the 3 Disc set, I'm pretty sure the LE is going to be $50CDN.

Oh and I don't see why we wouldn't get the LE, maybe Canadian retailers haven't updated their SKU's yet? I'm going to check back at EB next week, if there still isn't an LE SKU by then, we might have been screwed.

In Europe they're going to bundle the Saga disc with the MGS3:SE platinum edition.

MGS3:S is 'just' 3 discs over here.

Futureshop just added MGS3 subsistence today. Lets hope they add the LE soon!

I lived in Toronto for 12 years, and I'll tell you the truth. As much as I love Canada, it's times when I consider anything money related that I thank god I don't live there anymore. 15% sales tax, and higher prices FTL.

The same job might earn you $50k US, but in Canada, it will net you around $50k CAN. Which means that you automatically have less buying power. On top of that, the inflated prices are compounded with ridiculous sales tax (8% federal, 7% provincial). It's fucking ridiculous.
 
True, but then we have public healthcare. Also, if you go to Alberta, they basically have no tax, and the government gives you regular cheques for just breathing. So it balances out.

Not to mention that the Canadian dollar has been rapidly gaining value on the US dollar for about 2 years now, to the point that:
- its no longer a big exchange (I think were around 1CAD = 0.88US)
- we may overtake it if the trend continues
 
Hmm, i just got off the phone with EB, they said they don't know if you'll get the bonus DVD if you preoder it but "most likely, yea".

Should i go for it?
 
Quick question: can EB giftcards be used online? Because if not, I'll just order this from Gamestop now.
 
to get freeshipall to work you have to link from CAG's homepage. Also, anyone else's GS pre-order list the Saga disc as backordered (i'd assume its normal)?

Yeah, I couldn't find a free shipping code. Oh well, I'm not going to cancel to redo the order, I can live with spending an extra $2.99.
 
how do i link directly from CAG? i click on the freeshipall link on their mainpage, then it directs me to the mainpage of gs.com, then when i add MGS 3 (or anything) into my cart and attempt to input the free shipping code, it says invalid.

Go to CAG's homepage and click the store dropdown menu and then click on Gamestop, thats what I did and it worked.

so you go to the drop down menu, click on the site, type in "mgs 3" in the search engine, find the limited edition, add it to the card and insert the code?

cause those steps didn't work for me :( says invalid code
 
Mine says backordered too, I assume it's normal...

So do I get charged (by Gamestop) when they ship the preorder bonus, or just when they ship the main game? I haven't preordered anything in a long time.

Did you order through gamestop.com? If so, they'll hold the bonus and ship it with the game, usually. It depends on the way the preorder bonus works.

I just ordered through the EB I work for, so I should be fine. I'm pumped. :)
 
are people who just ordered getting any kind of email confirmation about the bonus disc? Cause i pre-ordered at the beginning of January and i better get the fuckign thing.

I preordered today, and the email confirmation from GS has it listed as "Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition with Bonus!"

Thankfully Agent Dormer is a MGS whore so when he buys this (and I'm sure he will), I can check out the bonus shit on his copy. I'm not buying a game I already bought again.. doesn't work that way for me.

not neccesarily. With the Zelda bonus disc, they gave you the option of getting it like 3 months early but you had to pay an extra $5 shipping.
 
that's because the Zelda disc was insanely hyped since the Japanese version. this...is just a dvd.
