The PR isn't worded well, but I do believe I may have misread. If so, hooray!SolidSnakex said:They say it's the directors cut of MGS2 and MGS3 which would mean Substance and Subsistence.

Wollan said:MGO was actually on a separate disc but no, it won't be included.
elbkhm said:I've heard that this collection includes Substance, but only the first disc of Subsistance (so no movie disc, and no MG1/MG2). If true, that kinda sucks. Can anyone confirm/deny?

No Document of MGS2, no VR missions, no Subsistence LE or bonus disc.

SMZC said:Yeah, only first disc in Subsistence. Ryan said so in the podcast.
Do you not read the posts above yours?GoutPatrol said:This is much better than buying Substance used for 25. After I get this, then I'll just need to buy Ghost Babel and VR missions again (I sold it when I was 13 to buy a Dreamcast) and I'll have everything.
PepsimanVsJoe said:All that stuff is great but most twin snake haters point to the fact that the gameplay and design are significantly worse than in the original MGS.
I think Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 are on the second disc. I wanna say there's a boss rush mode on it too.Teknoman said:Why would you need Subsistence with the second disc anyway? I mean didnt Konami shut down MGO PS2's servers? Unless you just wanted it for collection purposes.
o rly??? bizzare.strwrsxprt said:Just wrote this up and wanted to make sure you guys saw it. I don't remember seeing it mentioned anywhere else. Metal Gear Solid is a port to the PS2 so there won't be any disc swapping and you won't need to track down an ancient PS1 memory card to save on the PS2.

So it IS a PS2 title, then. Crazy. Was the JPn version like that?strwrsxprt said:Just wrote this up and wanted to make sure you guys saw it. I don't remember seeing it mentioned anywhere else. The box says 4 discs, the KP report even confirmed its ps1 discs. What are you on?
The version of MGS1 coming with The Essential Collection can save to PS2 memory cards for sure. I'm just trying to clarify now if the game is being pressed on two PS2 CDs or one PS2 DVD.mileS said:wait, so the MGS1 version that comes with this won't be able to save on a PS2 memory card? i'm confused now..
I'm so confused. I can't find the piece of evidence that I saw way back that showed the details about the box's contents, and being 4 discs total. Can anyone confirm?strwrsxprt said:The version of MGS1 coming with The Essential Collection can save to PS2 memory cards for sure.
