Metal Gear Solid V Spoiler Free Impressions Thread

Eh, honestly that's fine by me. I love knowing little easter eggs like that. It ain't anything story related but that's pretty cool. I'm sure other people are different than me so yeah, he kind of fucked up.

There will be a dedicated MGSV:TPP Easter Egg thread in the coming weeks I am sure.

That shit is a spoiler in here though.

Some early look at inventory around here makes it seem like MGSV is going to be heavily sided on PS4/3 sales, especially PS4. I'm talking a 7:1 difference between PlayStation and Xbox.

How much story is there in the story missions? I don't really mean cutscenes but they're surely story missions for a reason? Like does each main mission present more of the storyline somehow?

There's nothing wrong with his post. It's impressions. If you feel impressions are too spoilery, that's on you.

On the other hand, this is total bullshit.

Guess my post wasn't clear. I enjoyed reading MiamiWesker's impressions post, which is no doubt spoiler-free...and it's posts like that I wanted to see in this thread.

And since you quoted Gskyace's spoiler post, that's one post I am referring to that shouldn't be in this spoiler free thread.

Blimey, just booted GZ up to use the upload save feature and thought i'd have a quick look. The upgrade to the Fox engine between this and PP is even more impressive than i first thought! I'd love a tech article comparing the 2!

Patch 1.01 is now live on PS4 also.

let's pray and hope that I can buy the game today.

I have Wednesday off but still would like to start the week with a bang.

at least the mods are doing their jobs and banning people for spoilers

...oh

PM a mod if you have an issue. I'm willing to bet someone already has in order to get the post taken down.

Anyways, the gameplay is just so good in the game. It's hard to want to stop because you can do exactly what you want to do without feeling like you're being held back. I get such a huge rush trying to take every base with just tranqs, knockouts, and hold ups.

This is without question one of the greatest games I have ever played. The sheer amount of gameplay options is staggering. The places you visit, the things you do. I am in a random base in the middle of the game and that location could be the final level of any super well designed action game and here it's just what you do for one mission, no big deal. There are some games where the stealth and action is broken up in tiers like Deus ex, you can build the stealth tree or the combat tree, screw that, here you are everything at once. You are not half a soilder. You have every bit of stealth mastery that you have for combat mastery and it all happens on the fly.

I have gone 30 minutes of perfect stealth, systematically taking out guards making my way in and one mistake, boom now I am fighting guys with shields, snipers, a helicopter is firing missles at me. It's ridiculous and that's just normal. I can't tell you he thrill of evading the alert phase when entire death squads are searching for you and you manage to make the perfect distraction and slip right by them.

I can't think of a game that has more satisfying emergent gameplay than this. Not GTA, not far cry, this sets a new standard.

Totally agree. It's really next level stuff.

edit: and regarding the spoiler above, I didn't know about it either, but I'm not really bothered because the game is stuffed to bursting with content, surprises, secrets and in-joke references.

Seriously, for those who haven't played it yet, you're about to indulge in an orgy of all-you-can-eat Metal Gear brilliance. You have no idea.

Im about 18 hours in and just reached the 2nd map.

Kojima wasn't kidding when he said that "Metal Gear Solid 5 is Peace Walker".
Although the game is very good, it doesn't have that real MGS feel about it.

The lack of cut scenes, until this far, really doesn't do justice to the characters in terms of character-building.

I do love playing it.

...oh
That's probably cause mods have lives and can't watch every thread. If no mod does something nobody told any. If ya want to punish those who spoiler stop complain here and call a mod. It's like the two women at Walmart brawling and people just yapping and saying "somebody should call the cops." Just do it, if somryhing bothers you.

Clicked this thread first time and I carefully went to the last page in an attemp to avoid any spoiler then boom spoiler pics in my face :(

Goddamnit man. Why did you do this?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but is it possible to assign the staff members manually like in mgs: pw? i really liked that part.

now it seems the game assigns fultoned soldiers automatically in the best suited department and i'm loosing the overview who goes where.

I saw somebody state they assigned all their soldiers to a specific task to get it asap. So yeah, I think you can still asign as you wish.

All of you need to relax about the guy who posted the pic above, I agree he shouldn't have posted pics but you would have thought he spoiled the end of the game the way you lot reacted.

I have to disagree with peeps saying this doesn't feel like an MGS game. From a purely gameplay based perspective it feels like the MGS i've known and loved all these years. Less cinematics, less linear .....but total freedom.
