Forget this sale. Get the Legacy collection for $25. The Legacy collection is the best game value that I've ever bought. Has almost everything you need. Just need to get 5 and metal gear rising and your good. Also with PS3 era coming to a close, I'm sure this would be worth a bit of money someday.

Two quick notes about this edition:
1) The Amazon Link is just the game, the art book went out of print long ago and is likely very rare.
2) This collection is, right now, the only way to get MGS and MGS2 Digital Graphic Novels in HD in North America (English). Definitely worth owning this disc just for that.

This is true, unless you can find a store selling their original shipment of units, wave 2 of MGS: Legacy Collection was game in box only, no special book.
The Digi Graphic novels in HD are quite the novelty for sure.

How feasible is it for MGS4 to be ported to anything? Isn't the game stuck in Cell's architecture?
I know it's been done with Uncharted, The Last of Us and others, but still... Seems like a pretty deep commitment for Konami at this point.

I have one of those! I'd take it for sure. It'd take some getting used to but if I just had MGS2 read to boot on these consoles I'd be in love.
I prefer the murder mystery/horror vibe of Ac!d 1 but you're correct, Ac!d 2 perfected the gameplay.

Nah. It's a multiplayer-centric game and the servers shut down years ago. Unless you know a ton of PSP owners you can ad-hoc with, don't bother.

It's okay.
PS3 HD Collection ran at a near-locked 60fps for both MGS2 and 3. On Vita, it runs somewhere between 30 & 60 fps for MGS2, and 30 fps for MGS3. Transferring back & forth between the two versions is definitely noticeable.

MGS3 on PS3 has a really annoying glitch - the second cutscene in the game lags and stutters. It is impossible to watch. I only played maybe 10 minutes afterwards so I have no idea if it happens again.
I used to own the disc version and that didn't happen. And it also doesn't happen on the Vita either. I've also restarted it and the same thing happened.
It's really disappointing. I guess I'll stick to the Vita version.
