Michael Cera is in a horror film

Apparently I'm alone on this, but I think he looks pretty effective (by which I mean genuinely creepy and slimy).

It feels weird to not hate Michael Cera these days. Like a really exclusive club.

Figured the plot out.

Cera's character is simply inept and anti social, the vacationing girl has always had a demon inside of her. Cera's character isn't demonic or magical in any way.

A big part of it is still not being able to see him as anything but Mister Manager.

Oh lord that Photoshop...

Couldn't take the trailer seriously. Now I want to see the movie if only to see whether I'll laugh throughout the whole thing.

"hahahahah michael cera is such a funny guy always jokes around "put your face in the fire". this gonna be a classic cera comedy movie" - Youtube

:P

No I agree with you. Looks like an odd but interesting movie. It's fashionable not to like him but I've always enjoyed his films.

You know, innocent looking actors can have pretty creepy roles (Elijah Wood is one). However, this trailer made me burst into laughter everytime Cena popped up, especially the "YES PUT YOUR HAND IN THE FIRE" scene.

The choice to have Micheal Cera in this film is too on the nose. If he was an unknown actor I think this trailer would look half way decent. Instead this looks like one of the parody trailers that aired before Tropic Thunder.

Edit: The 7 reviews that are out for this make it seem halfway decent. One of them says it's meant to be a dark comedy. Weird film

I hope theres a twist in which this is a spiritual sequel of Tucker and Dale and the girl is actually just an unreliable narrator.

Omg! Wtf!?

Ok, the movie does look creepy... as does Michael Cera in his own way...but all I saw was fucking George Michael acting weird the entire time. Like I felt like it should be a spoof film inside of AD. I can't stop laughing. :lol

Cera actually made Magic Magic with director Sebastian Silva in Chile but while they were awaiting financing for it they shot another project on the side, Crystal Fairy.

Both films premiered at Sundance but that film is getting theatrical distribution this month, but this one isn't. Kind of weird.

Anyway, trailer and details for that movie in this thread:

10 Films To See In July (what are you watching?)

I've only seen Magic Magic, but heard Crystal Fairy was better and Cera is supposed to be great in it.

Direct to DVD?

I don't know if I should show this to my sister. Apparently she revealed to me she will fucking swoon and faint at the sight of Michael Cera (#2 is Jesse Eisenberg, lol)

Actually now that I think about it I will.

Goddamn. It's bad enough that Cera has spent the last decade stealing Eisenbergs career, now he's stealing his women?

Wow, he is seriously doing that role right in that trailer. I was supposed to be terrified while watching this trailer but I was actually laughing :)
