The passion of the Obama has overtaken these blacks. Energized them. It really has. If only someone with great business sense would take these uppity blacks down a notch. We need Law and Order.

Dear people of color, I thought it was OK for you guys to use the N word, hard "r" or not. Now I am all confused. Can I laugh at the joke? Because that shit was funny. I'm going to assume that it's only white people being offended because otherwise my understanding of how this all works is shot to hell.

Jenny Slate was fired from SNL for swearing? Lame.

No not really. It's unfortunately become the only thing she's remembered for doing during her one season, but it's not like she said "fuck" and was summarily fired—that's just been a persistent myth. She and other SNL castmembers have been interviewed about it since and said the show didn't even get fined, and despite the slip happening in her first episode she remained on the cast for the whole season. While the swear didn't help she openly admits she was fired more for...not being a good fit for the show.

That's weird, could've sworn she said on a podcast (comedy bang bang?) that she was let go the following day from the f-bomb airing.

I still can't believe that people refuse to acknowledge the difference between "nigga" and "nigga" with a hard "r".

Very rarely will you hear a black person call another black person the hard "r" version of the word and he definitely didn't use it in this case.
That's because AAVE is non-rhotic, they're not actually different words

First I thought there was outrage because the guy who said it was white. But he's black. I don't see the problem here.

Because outrage is like a drug, you need more and more to get to your moral high ground. And is good up there looking down on all those terrible people.

I didn't even think twice about it until I noticed the audience had a weird reaction. Like they didn't know if it was okay to laugh or not.

That kind of humor is really big these days. I think SNL's main problem is they haven't evolved with the trends in Comedy, and are stuck with modern comedians who are amazingly talented going against their instincts and personal style to deliver what Lorne Micheals thinks is funny.

On the bright side, Jenny Slate, like most people on SNL, is a lot funnier off the show than on it.

It honestly didn't think anything of it. I don't think it was a slip as some say. It was part of the joke.

Off-topic but that night of SNL was maybe the best i've seen in a while.

When was this?

Same episode during the dumb Scooby doo/teenage sleuth bit.
She did a good job though.
