Nah. Halo is a sensitive franchise with a very vocal fanbase. You cant introduce any new formula to it.

Introducing a new studio will make it worse.

Whatever the route forward is they need to re-evaluate 343's structure and priorities.

Most Halo fans want the game to be treated like CS. The classic formula works for both the competitive and the casual. Leverage that rather than changing it. Give us one good MP title that can last for 5-10 years. Look at what other games are doing on the pro scene. We will buy battle passes and skins; you don't need to cut Big Team Battle+Fire Fight and replace it with Warzone to make that happen. The sooner MSFT can figure that out the better.

Singleplayer is a different beast. Stuff like sprint isn't as big of an issue here. Story went off the rails when 343 took over-complete disaster, the "Spider-Man Clone Saga" of video games. Art and music were also a substantial change-like Star Wars with a pop soundtrack in place of John Williams.

I would decouple the MP and SP. Let MP be a live platform and SP iterate on a 3-4 year cycle-use it to introduce new sandbox items in the MP.

I would be very surprised if Microsoft would bother buying them in the first place if they plan to keep all those IP's multi platform, why do this if they will not benefit?.

If MS makes another big bet, I'd say it would be Valve: they would get a few top tier IPs more and specially would give them Steam, which would mean MS would dominate the PC market, would be able to bring Steam to Xbox and merge it with XBL, and also would give them an already working VR headset for Xbox with an already existing PC userbase.

They should definitely not bring starfield to PS5. They should keep it Xbox and PC only. This will no doubt increase Xbox sales. Since many love playing on consoles instead of PC.

Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6 are definitely system sellers. No reason to ever put them on PS5 especially since all the Sony Bros have those gaming PCs

Not immediately anyway. MS has the consoles, PC, Steam and Xcloud and the occasional Nintendo bromance happening. They really dont need to make any of their games multi platform. If their smart they'll keep most of these exclusive to the Xbox platform and build from there. GP is already at 15 million subs: announced today! That will certainly increase over the next few months.

Outselling on a per unit metric is gone with Xbox shifted to GGamePass. A large majority is carrying over their GamePass subscription over to next generation where all the titles will launch on day 1. This the a generational shift were MS is the future, while Sony is still stuck in traditional ways that will end up costing them from now on. There simply isn't enough enticement on their side, as the "we got games" narrative and selling point just completely evaporated.

Xbox is the future of gaming like it or not.

He's just guessing. Series like the Elder Scrolls, Fallout and Starfield are obviously going to be sold on all the platforms. Wouldn't make much business sense otherwise. Now, the smaller Bethesda games may go Xbox exclusive, but there's no way in hell they make the bigger ones exclusive.

Besides, Hines and Howard have basically confirmed they're still going to publish their own games and make their games available for everyone. Microsoft has basically bought Bethesda for its library and for their Game Pass (meaning, it's a more compelling reason to get future Bethesda titles for free on Game Pass). PS5 and Switch players will have to fork out $70 for their future games..... Xbox players won't.

Have more service subscriptions than MS with PS Plus
Sell more and new successful ip's compared to MS
Have more 10 million sellers than MS when it comes to games
Have more exclusives than MS
