The conferences never live up to the hype we put on them, even the good conferences. It doesn't mean they won't be interesting conferences though and today is going to be a fun ride thats for sure..

He's on Spike as an analyst, IV always been 50/50 like every other year I switch from "I'm not a big fan of his" to "He's a cool guy" back and forwards.

Seriously, in the pictures, the only thing I'm expecting to appear is Sunset Overdrive and Halo, largely due to them existing.

They always are. That is what makes gaf great. We hype things up and make awesome Gifs and we spend 10-15 hours of our life making a hype train after spending 30 hours reading gaf to make sure we were able to get everyone on. Its like Christmas morning lol.

With this not being a console year like last year, I need a really big draw to get me hyped about E3. And Phil Spencer stepping up to the throne is that draw.
The old Xbox Guard really cut Phil's work out for him last year, and now he's being hailed as the hero people are hoping for. This could be his E3 2004, his could be the conference we're all quoting for years to follow. That's what's intriguing me.

As much as Mattrick fucked up Xbox, it could be a good thing in the long run as we now have Spencer and i think Microsoft in general now know what consumers want/expect with future Xbox consoles.

Spencer was just as responsible for the Xbox one fuck up last year as Mattrick was.
That's what I'm going for. We've got Spencer now, he's gonna right the ship after knowing what he already knew for years, and learning what he was able to learn from last year.

No he was not. I can't imagine Spencer having the final word on having Kinect or TV stuff in there, as you can see he has immediately moved away from that image.
Rubbish. Head of Microsoft Game studios may have some input on hardware but its more about the games for his role, in which he delivered!
Yeah, Spencer was head of first-party development for years. During a time where their first-party output was ... well, very dry.
I think Mattrick was a jackass holding the company back, but I also think Spencer was just as bad at his job as Mattrick was.
Now he's in the spotlight, i'm curious if he's able to deliver on all his twitter promises.
Either way, interesting to see what happens.
