Gamers often say there is no room for 4 console makers. Here it is...

What about a comeback from Sega ?

Fun poll 😁

Might as well start the cycle over again.

Master System / Xbox - No chance against the competition.
Genesis / 360 - Gained the next gen lead with a head start but lost it.
Saturn / One - Ruined by a single E3. $100 more than the PlayStation and needed to price cut multiple times yet the damage was already done with no chance to recover.
Dreamcast / Series X - Tried to turn things around after making multiple mistakes but was still not enough.

I would have no choice but to buy Saga console since most of Atlus games will be exlusive to Saga system.

Sure it'd be fun killing them again
There was a friendly fire between Sega US and Sega of Japan and a tremendous debt...

Now, Sega of Japan is handling everything. (the new Sega West CEO is from Japan)

On top of that, Sega is shitting gold, two 90% MC in a week (Infinite Wealth is also million seller in a week... Shenmue's disaster is long long gone) and Sonic 3 is coming to theaters (plus Knuckles, Shadow's spin offs)

sega cant even put out a good game and you expect them to put out a good console?
Hi

and 2 MC publisher of the year crowns during the last gen like... no one else.
(one crown for Capcom)

did you just give me an asset flip and a remake of a game developed in 2003

You're talking about LAD Gaiden produced in one year(still a good game > you were talking bad games)

It's still a bad excuse.
Zelda TOTK has a looooot of asset flip and is still a good game. (5 years dev)

Infinite Wealth has more new assets than Zelda and is still a good game (with less dev time : 3 years...)

Give RGG Studio 5 years and you'll see ;)

TOTK can get these stray too, thats an asset flip and is a 1.5. So by agreeing with me i can see you fully agree with me.

Let it go my dude, Sega isn't even the same great company it used to be 20 years ago
LOL.
2004 is already Sega Sammy with many talent departures.

2024 is Sega Sammy + great western developpers + Atlus + new Sega of Japan studios handled by Sega veterans aaaaaand many talent comebacks:

Hajime Satomi's son, has given basically all power to veterans from the Sega Golden Era like Utsumi.(he is currently Sega West CEO and is leading Sega of Japan studios).

When a company has money again, Sega talents from the hey days are coming back.

Try again ;)

Sega should come back. They have tons of IP's that could be Dreamcast 2 exclusive. Sega has a lot of multi platform IP's they can take away from Sony, Nintendo and MS that would warrant buying a Sega console. Infinite Wealth sold 1 mil and has a lot of buzz. Making Yakuza/Like a Dragon Dreamcast 2 exclusive alone would make it worth the purchase.

You changed the subject ;)

You said:
"sega cant even put out a good game and you expect them to put out a good console?"

They are good games.

You could have said, it's always the same games...(i would agree)but you didn't.

And even in that case, it's changing with the return of the CEO from the golden era:

Many reboots have been announced...

Cant't vote, but count me in !
Buying a japanese Dreamcast a few months after launch is one of my greatest videogame memory.

Nah. I'd like to see Nintendo make a true home console if anything.

An under powered home console feat useless gimmick at full price ?

Nintendo: "Count on me"

Another powerful little box without bullshit at reasonable price ? (Like the gamecube)

Nintendo : "LOL"

If it's the only place to play the next Yakuza/Like A Dragon then I'd have to be there.

Sega seems to have really found their footing again in recent years though so they really shouldn't tempt fate

Fortunately, PC is a safety bag for any console maker.

Only interested in God of War and not the entire PS5 library ?
PC...

Relative interest in Game Pass ?
PC game pass.

Sega wouldn't stop their PC ports, i guess they would like Sony and delay them to give their console an advantage.

I also remember the Dreamcast struggled in japan with no Final Fantasy...

In 2024, FFXV = 10 lillion units sold ww.
P5R = 8 million and 10 with the spin offs...(P5R is currently better than FF15 due to late multi platform...it could pass 10,5 or 11 million.)

Atlus is growing fast and Sega has goid relations with Capcom.Monster Hunter is now bigger than Final Fantasy.

Yeah...2024 Sega would without doubt, only with Atlus, do better than the Genesis, Dreamcast in japan and even the Saturn.
