Damage has been done.
I feel like this is the most truthful statement out there...they come out banging with this insane structure, and now look even crazier by going, "ehh um JUST KIDDING!!!! it was all comedy!"
I cant trust that.
Damage has been done.
I think this entire post sums up how I feel about how ridiculous things have gotten. Ah well, it's why I stick to the OT section.
Relax. Play games. Have fun. Take a bubble bath.
Statements like "it will take me years to get over this" isn't the same as discussing what you like and dislike about games.
At least from my perspective.
Hilarious!! LOL. Poor baby.![]()
Don't buy the XB1.
."Aren't you glad we didn't follow through with our awful policies?"
We've reached the point where people give Microsoft shit just because its what they've been doing for the past 5 months. this thread is tame compared to the stuff from June.
I think its the same as Family Plan. Renamed and slightly restructured.Home Gold? Is that different from just regular Gold? Is that a new subscription option that will cost more than regular Gold?
This is neither a refutation of any point I have made nor a particularly valuable contribution to this topic. I appreciate you may not find these issues important and you have no problem spending your money frivolously on bad companies who are currently "behaving badly", if I can use a crude term for a second, but I think everyone would appreciate you not wading into the discussion if you're not going to bother really thinking about what people are saying and responding to those issues.
This is the posting equivalent of "oh whatever you say dude, UR TOO SERIOUS"

And the thng is, I believe Yoshida even explained why they put online multiplayer behind PS+.Absolutely not. They were clear about it from day one. Sure it sucks for a lot of people, but their communication was clear. Sony hasn't had to change ONE thing about their approach.
It has everything to do with the post you quoted.
What we internally discussed and decided is that we will continue the free access to online play on PS3 and Vita, so that's clear. But because on PS4 the online connectivity features such as second screen, auto downloads and share features - these are one big pillar of the PS4 experience and we will continue to invest in this area to expand and improve these online features and services.
If we keep giving away online access for free, the natural pressure is that we have to cut down on the cost to provide this free service. But that's conflicting with our goal of being able to provide very robust and great online services going forward. So we decided that on PS4, because we want to continue to invest and improve our new services, we've asked the most engaged consumers in the online activities to share the burden with us so that we can continue to invest.
But to make the pain a little bit less we will continue to offer free content with instant game collections, discounts and early access to betas on PS4 as well. So at the beginning we typically picked from older games for the instant game collection on Vita and PS3, but because everything is new on PS4 we decided to make a smaller version of Drive Club with all the online features open, included in that instant game collection on day one.
In addition to that we add one digital game every month, so they get high quality indie games as well on top of what they get on PS3 and Vita. So hopefully that makes people's decision easy to join PS Plus.

Yep - its not like they have much choice though. They've got a *lot* of ground to try and reclaim. Its good that they put this out there, they should clear up the message.
That's sad but way too funny lol. Poor baby.
Are we seriously worrying about people with absolutely no access to an internet connection? And who will be picking up the first batch of xbone's, that's a little much.
This is a key issue that people need to understand. To say nothing of the fact that what Microsoft did was cause a crisis of trust, and it's going to take YEARS before people fully get over it - just like it took Sony.
So the corporation let us know they were indeed a corporation. After all this, they double down at E3. Only afterwards, when they presumably received bad news from pre-order numbers, did they change their policies. It shows they were more beholden to potential money than to the outcry of actual people and fans.
This is not even counting all the other bad news MS has had, like labeling countries as tiers, delaying launch in countries, delaying features, etc..
No. It's the equivalent of who gives a shit![]()
The profit motive is like like your intestines - something that shouldn't bubble up to conscious awareness unless something is wrong. So the corporation let us know they were indeed a corporation.

It's pretty telling that they are still trying to clarify their policies with just over two months to go before launch. They must now realize what a catastrophe their unveiling and follow-up at E3 was. It's unfortunate for MS to have to direct their advertising dollars and manpower on clarifying what the console does and doesn't do.
No. It's the equivalent of who gives a shit![]()
The issue is that they pretend to do it because they care about what we say but really they just want the money. Of course a business wants to make money. But to spit in our face and tell us it's raining is an insult. So the corporation let us know they were indeed a corporation.

Nobody trusts you Microsoft. Even gamestop still tells people they have DRM in it. SECRET MOTIVE?!
But saying you're going to reintroduce it later on in the life cycle of the console? Yeah we don't believe you what so ever.
Cerny reference?Relax. Play games. Have fun. Take a bubble bath.
Yep, cerny reference. ^_^;![]()
Fillin' up my tub as we speak!
They need to. Many people still have no idea.
Are they really? Well damn.
Go ahead, walk the dog...thx for your permission Micsosoft

Though at the same time, it's videogames and people will drop the proselytising and moralising as soon as there's an exclusive game they like on the system. See the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo's utter garbage treatment of the customer via cranking up the pricing on carts and peripherals (Despite the console's panic drops) and being slow as molasses on localisation (And throwing in a speed decrease to rub salt in for PAL gamers). Yet suddenly being forgiven when StarFox and GoldenEye showed up and was all but forgotten by the time of Zelda's release. Hell, how many people who voted EA worst company in America are going to play Battlefield 4 this year?
It's happened before, will happen again and I'd hardly be stunned when we're talking Halo 5 when people say "There was DRM planned? Oh well, I don't care. 64 Player Griffball? I'm in for that".
Remove the paywall for apps and reduce the price. Ditch the paywall for free to play games or keep it but start players off with exclusive starter packs to compensate. What do you want them to do?
