Middle-earth: Shadow of War will now launch worldwide on Oct. 10, 2017.

So Shelob can turn into an attractive human woman now? Bitch, please. I'm pretty sure in the book it even says Shelob is no-one's ally but Sauron leaves her be as she's extremely powerful and a good protector of the borders of Mordor.

Shame the hype went down for this game. Or maybe they are showing to much?
The orginal release in august would have been way better also. Now its october and to many other games probably.

Some new stuff from Gamescom. Maybe indeed its to much. There is a livestream also in 30min.

The hype has been tempered for awhile now even before the delay announcement. I recall people talking shit about the last-gen looking animations when the gameplay reveal was released.

I think its the greed killing the hype but I'm still somewhat intrigued. Will check out the vids when I get home.

Quick question for people:

Are there people NOT buying this game due to the micros? It didn't seem "that" crazy to me.

Lots of people don't mind paying to get sweet stuff faster.

Don't most mobile games offer chests which make you better or faster? Yeah we didn't pay $70 for a mobile game, but the mobile game also didn't take a 100-200 person dev team and 2-3 years to make.

Also, they didn't say it gated the game in any way, pure bonus right?

Jim Sterling's video on this topic is pretty good and he addresses what you've said here pretty much verbatim: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m0OOurtOj8

Think the whole MT thing is blown up really. The game overall seems really solid and packed with content. I am intrested in it. But october is killing now. I am already playing Destiny alot, AC comes out also in october and then also the X. August would have been so perfect for the game. Would have been easy on top for some weeks until Destiny.

Where's all the open world gameplay? And gameplay variety period. They've talked it up quite a bit, but I haven't seen anything but sieges.

I think Shadow of Mordor was a humble surprise as well. No one had overly high expectations but it was a pleasant surprise when released with decently competent combat and structure. The Nemesis system although not fully realized was new and fresh. The game also went on to win GOTY awards for Game Developers Choice Awards, GameSpot, Giant Bomb, and Joystiq at the time.

This sequel feels a bit "overly confident" and one could even argue the MT's are a bit "cocky". As mentioned many (Devs) are doing similar things but it did seem a bit out of place for a story driven single player game with pseudo multi-player. However only time will tell if the quality and content is there it may ultimately be justified.

With the load of games coming out and time not being finite Shadow of War is a difficult day one for me. Especially having paid $6.99 for the GOTY edition with all DLC. If the game turns out to be good it will still be good 6-12 months later.

I'm still hyped but there's too many games coming out the rest of the year. Not sure if I'll have the time or money and not sure if this game makes the cut!

Don't care about MT at all.

MT mean nothing to me, so I'm still super hyped for this game. I think everyone likes to jump on the hate-bandwagon to "bring down the man" for putting a fast-forward button in a game where you don't have to push it. Makes no sense to me man.

Got SoM on sale on PSN, after having a bad first experience when the game first came out.

...and I love it, got to the 2nd map, and having a jolly time.

Definitely has me hyped for this one, can't wait to ride the dragon looking creatures.

Wow I guess people still care about this thing.

You're surprised? I dunno, just because WB is gonna shit on a game with a few microtransactions doesn't mean I'm going to not be interested in the game anymore. The initial reveal trailer is one of the best trailers I've ever seen.
