Purple was the colour I had been waiting for!! But then I was bought the Zelda edition for christmas so that kinda negated my wait...

I used to have both transparent purple GBC and GBA at one point. The former broke and I got it replaced with a GameStop warranty -- but they didn't have that colour anymore, so I took Kiwi green instead. The latter was stolen ;/

i still have my transparent GBC and GBA stored somewhere.

my GBC broke and i gutted my brother's GBC to get the purple working again (good thing this was in the GBA days. by this time, my bro didn't care about his GBC)

it is a real shame none of the following portables had a transparent model. maybe they're too ugly and don't look as cool as the GBC/GBA did (more moving parts and complex design)

With all these new colors, my old Aqua Blue is looking more and more awful White, red, purple, cobalt blue. So many great looking colors.

I am kinda hooked on the white one, especially since I live in Europe, but the purple is cool, too. But I already have a 3DS Damn you Nintendo!

As stated above, it's probably the same shade but the lighting makes it look slightly different. Also keep in mind that Nintendo's Flare Red renders look slightly pinkish.

Ah, the prototype purple was more purple, while the purple we're getting is more blue.

This makes me think, does anyone offer a good solution for system transfer when trading-in? Are there any retailers that might let you do a system transfer before handing over your old 3DS, for example?

Like, maybe in exchange for a deposit, and you have to bring it back within 48 hours or something.

I feel exactly the same way, the prototype model looked fantastic but that render has taken some of the edge off of it.

The only color of the 3DS I could stand to have is black because every surface on the thing is the same color. I hate when the plastic around the screen is a different color than everything else.

All the lightning on all the 3DSes never really seemed to carry over well from the pics. There's definitely a difference. That open pic is probably closer to the actual color. My experience with a friend who has the teal unit is mostly why I say this: it looks much different in person.

Hmmm but even that isn't the same as the prototype color.

Dammit Nintendo. Region locked, no prototype purple, Kagura isn't localized even though it's getting a sequel . . .

Aw well, at least I won't have to worry about my wallet imploding onto itself from the expense of importing.

But I guess I'll still go to the stores and check it out in person myself. Hope isn't lost quite yet.
