Mighty No. 9 - Bring It! Trailer

I'm interested to try this but it looks like it was built with Little Big Planet 3's creation tools.
They had to really employ the wrong people at every step to get the game looking that mediocre-to-terrible in 2015/16.

There are one-person bedroom teams pulling off better quality. At times this looks like some janky custom character stuff created in LittleBigPlanet or something.
I kinda see what you guys mean. But even then, there's still plenty of LBP creations that are more artistically interesting than what's being done in MN9. There's really no good excuse for this game's graphical shortcomings. Not from these kind of industry veterans.

Unfortunately artstyle isn't the only issue, gameplay (demo) is not that great.

There is clearly disagreement on that. I found it to be a faster Mega man and Mega Man X just what it said it would be. Certainly better then Gunvolt's long corridors with a few crates and pits in the way.

Also i don't trust most post here when it comes to MN9's demo since the hate train was already underway and it feels to me that is coloring everything.

Having played the beta it blows Gunvolt out of the water with actual level design rather then long levels with no rhyme or reason to the positioning of ideas.

I can't think of anything memorable about the level design in either game. It's more that both games have a combo system as their focus, and the one in Gunvolt is less annoying.

That...was actually a pretty fun trailer. I've been down on the game with all the recent crap that it's dealt with, but that trailer actually has me kinda looking forward to it again, lol.

Not a big fan of the trailer's style. The weird angles and cuts made it hard to actually see the gameplay. I was intrigued by some of the powers I saw, but the trailer made it hard to actually understand them.

Also, while I like the style, graphically the game is a bit rough. It reminds me of a 360 XBLA title (though I wouldn't be surprised if my memory of 360 XBLA games is deceiving me). I'd guess this is the result of the budget and the fact that the game is on so many systems. Perhaps a hypothetical sequel could be exclusive to more powerful hardware (PS4, X1, and whatever successors Nintendo has out) and thus look more impressive.

I am glad that they added challenge and harder difficulty. Only thing I ask is an option to get rid of the voices. The game will be fun despite its low poly and very basic look.

Man, how much cost to make this game?

Man, those are not attractive character models. The game looks decent enough in motion, but I'm really surprised by how low quality the assets look for a PS4 game. It almost looks like the lead platform was the Vita or something.

Some people certainly want it to suck.

I don't see why it would suck, though. Gameplay looks great.

Have you played the kickstarter backer demo? There were a couple things in the demo that concerned me a bit, namely 1) being able to constantly airdash without any limits breaks some of the platforming sections and 2) the section near the end of Dynatron's stage where you have to get super close to the turbines that can one shot you and then crouch dash under them with almost no margin of error is just really sloppy design.

I dunno, I'm a little unsure about it but I'm still going to play it. I'm a huge sucker for Mega man.

The most recent one. I gave some of my thoughts on last demo thread but basically level design wasn't really good.

So you don't like the level designs. I thought they were fine but I am sure the later levels will be more intricate especially since the last demo was basically the prologue with a bunch of stuff locked out.

Portable versions were delayed and still have no release date. As for the rest: seeing how MN9 runs on Unreal Engine 3 and it's coming to last gen systems I can assure you PS4 wasn't the lead platform.

I fear they held back the game even more thinking about the eventual port to the 3DS.

Inafune clearly mismanaged this game but it's another thing to say this will play like shit. It may look like so for some but gameplay is decent to good at times. I played the demo so I can attest.

Theres no other way to say it, this looks like shit. Like inafune literally just shit that kickstarter money down the toilet. For the amount of money this made, this is inexcusable.

Well I guess I'll find out if I like this game or not soon enough. I havent touched any demos or anything, the gameplay looks fine I suppose. This was still the most annoying and upsetting project I've ever backed though and that has killed a lot of my excitement for the game.

Not sure with people's complaints about the graphics, but it looks good and fitting the game perfectly for me. Animation is also top notch. Loving it.

That's my impression since almost the very beginning of its development. A recent anecdote about the backlash this game is facing: in the last discussion about this game I participated in another forum someone said "they promised transformations and we haven't seen any of those yet, I bet they are using all the money for something else entirely", at that time I said the game wasn't finished and that they had shown already the models for some of the transformations. Still, I fail to see how a demo with obvious missing features is an obvious proof that Comcept and Inti Creates are using the money of the KS campaign for something else. Now that we've seen transformations in this trailer (although the style of the trailer didn't allow us to see them better) I wonder what would be the next thing they'll see as a proof this game is a scam.

Anyways, after playing both demos I can say I'm satisfied with the gameplay. In terms of graphics the game looks totally uninspired but that doesn't affect how I feel about the game.

Of course they're using it for something else. That's literally the definition of a profit.

Did you at least play the demo

Because leaving a shit review without even playing the game in any way is pretty disingenuous

I did. This was the worst bait and switch I've taken part in.

As a Mega Man fan I'm gonna say that I don't like the combo system and how it pushes you onto dash killing every enemy.

I'm also kind of disappointed with the menu system. I just liked how in Mega Man games when you brought up the menu it was like "oh yeah, look at all this stuff I have".

That trailer genuinely hurt my eyes. I can't wait to finally try it though, I backed so I might as well give it a try even if I'm not interested anymore at this point~

I can't believe I backed this...

If this was my first kickstarted experienced I would be soured. At least some other projects have been worth it far beyond my expectations.
