After all these years as a baseball fan, I just now see there's an M and a B which form the glove. I thought it was just a stupid glove and thought nothing of it.

:face palm:

As a former baseball card collector, that blows my fucking mind.

my first trial was with "chocolate"

I'm sure there's a rational explanation, such as the first link always being something important which will lead to philosophy.

That said, I got to "philosophy" from Charlie Sheen in less than 20 clicks.

Of course there is a rational explanation, Ben. It still blows people minds. We're not saying it's magic :P

Once you hit science, it's exactly the same order, so once you see science = you are getting to Philosophy no matter what, I tried Porn and it got it me there lol

Christianity ===> Philosophy 32 clicks

With Pepsi Max as my starter page, I got stuck in a loop around click 25. Just cycling though the same pages again and again now.

The loop:

Human - Taxonomy - Ancient Greek - Greek Language - Indo-European - Family - Language - Communication - Meaning (Philosophy) - Aristotle - Greek - Nation - Sovereign State - State (polity) - Social Sciences - Scholarship - World - Human - Repeat

Does the "Meaning (Philosophy)" one count?

Forgot how it got to Human at first, though. I probably did this wrong.

That's your problem. Avoid the parenthesis like they spread Ebola. Science is the first real link under Taxonomy.

Yeah, she spins right to left... I dont see the illusion.
She spins both. All 3 of those feature the same rotating silhouette, yet the ones to the left and right appear to rotate in opposite directions as the drawn on lines change your perception. Without the lines, there is no clear indication so your mind chooses a direction and it differs from person to person. There is no one direction.

Anal Cunt are 10 clicks away from Philosophy. Imagine that.

If you look below or above the image so that all 3 are in your peripheral vision, you can make it look like she's just doing a 180-degree turn back and forth

I started with Rhesala and ended up using

Science --> Knowledge --> Fact --> Information --> Sequence --> Mathematics --> Quantity --> Property (Philosophy) --> Modern Philosophy --> Philosophy

as well

Damn interesting though.

Maybe the universe is the brain of a giant species, maybe we are all just illusions created by this enormous brain. Mind blown.
Not going to get a lot of thinking done with just the one brain cell though.

These are deeply inferior to this one, sorry:

I've proven it to myself many, many times and gave a psychology presentation on why it happens and it STILL gets me.

The youtube snake and Wikipedia philosophy game have sufficiently blown my mind.

The first links in Wikipedia always tend towards Philosophy because (1) the first links are usually general types (categories, etc.) and (2) because all general types are socially constructed from philosophy. Everything that is intelligible comes from philosophy, really. Even how we understand science is itself a form of philosophy (a field that is contested, btw).

Edit: What's even more interesting is that philosophy leads back to philosophy.

Probably knowing that although the two squares reflect the same amount of light, the one in the shade is probably brighter than it appears relative to the other, is handy for some reason.

Not seeing what our eyes detect, but interpreting it in a way that's been more useful.

Exactly right; the brain handles shadow and the resulting changes in coloration due to lighting very differently than it interprets simple differences in hue.

so i just found out that the numbers on the toaster represent minutes... not increased heat.

mind blown

While the settings may represent time and not heat, I will bet my left nut they don't correspond to minutes.

Edit: Although I'm also willing to bet it does measure heat, too, or has a cut-off to prevent the coils from disintegrating. If you push a piece of toast back down immediately at the same setting, it pops up much faster than the first time.

By the way... can Bishop auto-ban himself? What would happen?
A mod once said he banned himself and it worked, so I guess it happens like normal.

You must have a weird toaster.

4chan ---> English language ---> West Germanic Language ---> Germanic Languages ---> Indo-European Languages ---> Language Family ---> Language ---> Communication ---> Meaning ---> Aristotle ---> Greeks ---> Nation ---> Sovereign state ---> State ---> Social sciences ---> Umbrella term ---> Subset ---> Mathematics ---> Quantity ---> Property ---> Modern philosophy ---> Philosophy

My god.

There was a recent change to the Mathematics page on Wikipedia; I'm not sure if it was deliberately to counter the Philosophy thing earlier, but it now sends you back to Science going that way, so you enter a loop.
